Feeling of waiting for your car...
It's horrible!!!
I ordered my car the 1st december. They promised me to deliver it 5th week of 2006. Well here we are... 5th week. I just gave them a call, guess, it's not going to be ready this week. Maybe middle of next week. I mean, I understand it takes a while to produce a BMW, no doubt about it, BUT: The car was at my dealer last tuesday, then they shipped it 15 miles further, to an AC Schnitzer dealer, it arrived there TODAY! Now that dealer says it's going to take almost a week to put some type IV rims, the kit and interior on it. So it takes 2 weeks to get 15 miles further, and to put the kit on it... THAT'S SLOW! You really live up to the 5th week, and then you get this I really hope the 330i is worth all this stress... Somebody else with this feeling at the moment? |

I feel your pain! But look at the big picture, you'll get the car when you do and after that, you will forget all this stress. So basiclly, what I am saying is, don't stress, it's not worth it. Time only goes by slow when you focus on the car and nothing else. Hang out with friends/family, have dinner, see a movie, there is life outside your new e90!

Yeah I know.
Last weeks went by relatively fast, spend a lot of time going out, movies, family. It's just, my SA should have informed me last week that it was going to take longer then expected. I wouldn't have any problems with it. But I had to call myself (needed to know if the papers were there, which aren't there either ). About the moment he said: "6th week" every second is taking an hour! |

Relax and enjoy the anticipation. Like when you're tied to the bed and a beautiful girl is undressing slowly in front of you... and you can't touch her... ahem... but I digress. The car will come soon enough (not unlike the poor chap tied to the bed). Enjoy the process and keep yourself occupied with this forum and BMW mags.

I feel your pain. I've got probably another 30-45 days to go BTW I saw someone selling a used black 330i in San Diego on this forum and was tempted to jump the gun and just buy that, but then I saw LEDZEP's post:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...2&page=1&pp=22 I'm sticking with my Alpine White 330i...it's worth the wait. Amazing pictures. |

I know how you feel, I've been waiting 6 weeks now. Thankfully a good portion of that time was the holidays, so that part went by fast.
Now I have 2 weeks to go, I'm not too busy working, and time is slowing down. At least I have a set date with the PCD, not knowing when I was going to take delivery was driving me crazy. Good luck Danny. Thank God (Mark and Jason) for e90post.

Yeah, it's a killer
Reading these posts reminds me of listening to women in the last trimester of pregnancy. Of course, I guess there's a reason the delivery flatbed says "We're delivering someone's baby." I pick up in 4 days. I think I started to feel better when the car got off the ship. Gosh, that seemed to take forever. Of course, now that it's here and at the end of the month my dealer was trying really hard to get me in by today. Still,he's a good guy, and I'd do it for him but for a few logistical problems.
Gosh, pickup on Sat and Super Bowl on Sun. Will this weekend NEVER come? |

My mom just came home: "I've just seen your car" "I went to talk with the SA and they let me see your car inside blablabla" I was like  and then she said "they invited you to watch tomorrow while they are putting on the ac schnitzer kit" The car is ready on saturday, and they are going to deliver to me at tuesday :rocks: and on wednesday you'll see a lot of pictures here |

Your mom seeing your car before you get it?
That would suck. My parents and in-laws, actually everyone at work, too...have been asking me where my car is. I have to admit that it did sound cooler to say "Bremerhaven", or "Munchen" in than to say "Charleston...(no offense to S Carolina)" or "Um, it's at the Dealer's".
Perhaps there is some justice. My dealer said that even he is waiting for his 5 series, and it's only just been painted. |

I ordered mine on November 18, 2006 and I was given an estimated arrival date last week. Well it never came and I finally got the call today. I could've picked it up as early as tomorrow afternoon but I'm working tomorrow afternoon and they need some extra time to throw in my OEM aluminum pedals and footrest...needless to say the wait is killing me but 2 more days is all I have to worry about now.

I had 5 months total wait! But it has been so worth it. 3 months before ED, 2 months waiting for the car to get to the US. Nothing like driving your own car in the alpine twisties and the German Autobahn, but the wait was horrible.

Queued for November 05 batch South Africa factory. ( just missed the October batch ) Shipment arrived HK on 17th Jan 06 ( 6-8 weeks to ship, not bad ) Earliest handover is 24th Jan ( 7 days for local dealer to handle paper work) I had chosen 3rd Feb due to personal reason. Total wait time ~= 4 months ! 2 more days to go - my Nikon camera is ready

I have you all beat regarding the waiting game. I have to wait until May 12 for Euro-delivery. Why so long you ask? My sabbatical is in May and that is the first opprotunity I will have for eurodelivery. I feel like I am going to end up dead or in prison having to wait that long though...
