new software for idrive?

I have a 2011 135 m-sport with I-drive. The I-drive system is obviously out dated and in need of an upgrade. Is it possible for OEM upgrade or thru BMW? Please advise. Thanks.

There is no "software update" that will change the UI.

There are people who have speculated (and maybe completed) a CIC to NBT upgrade.
If I recall correctly, you'd need a new combox and the touch-controller omnibutton as well as a hefty amount of coding.

If you just want updated maps, that's easily done through many retailers.
