Yes, that should be the one for both TV and navigation. There is three things, on top is the Video module, middle is the changer and bottom is the amplifier. If you do some audio mod, they will have to open up that one. I saw mine before when mod-ing my audio system.

Do you mean that Video/TV module is located in the rear luggage compartment together with CD-changer ( I dont have it in my E90 though ) and the amplifier? Could you please take same pics of it?

For BMW E60:

""There seem to be several issues. The TV control module is located in the left rear luggage compartment. If you remove the trim you will see where it is bolted, fixing the unit will require a new trim. The unit has two sockets, one for the two aerials located in rear windscreen. The second is for the power and feeds to the CCC, note information is relayed to the CCC by fibre optics. Unless these cables and sockets are already there it will be quite a bit of work, both laying the cables and getting access to the CCC."

Yes, its on the rear left side, it was covered by the carpeted board. I only can take a pic if i remove the board, it is kind of tough to remove now as I am having 2 10" sub-woofer box in my trunk. Anyway, it is inside there.

I have removed the carpeted board in my E90 today ( pics below )
So far I can see though there are no cables and sockets for the TV-Module.

Yes, this is the correct location.

That should 3 things there, 1st: TV/Navigation 2nd: 6 Disc Changer 3rd: Amlpifier. Mine was like that and I believe all the Navi Pro version should be like that as well.

BTW, mine was in brushed metal color. Can you take out the first one and take a pic to comfirm whether it is the amplifier? Is there a cooling fan around?

wuga: "Can you take out the first one and take a pic to confirm whether it is the amplifier? Is there a cooling fan around?" The board is already back at its place. But I think that it must be the amplifier. The question now is if I want to install/upgrade my Navi PRO with TV-option, how about the cables?!

Greg, please, can you tell us your car's production date?
Also please check if you can enter also a destination (for example the name of a city) by voice control (pre-september cars need entering it by iDrive joystick, voice control stops to "enter destination").
Thanks!

This might need quite a bit of work as it might involve software configuration as BMW will not install for you the Navi Pro supported software. There is 2 choices I personally think:-
1) Upgrade it to Navi Pro and let BMW do it
2) Get a 3rd party decoder and unlock everything which includes DVD video playing and etc... This cost around 20-30K RMB here. I am not sure about US/Europe.

Hope this helps... Let share your mod-process to others without navi pro if you did it...

Here comes a bump for an old thread...but I am having trouble getting my cd player recognizing an mp3 cd. I am using the nero burn settings mentioned previously but with no luck. Do the files on the cd have to be ALL mp3? I have a mix of wma and mp3 on the cd, and I understand that the system will not play wma's. Do I need to go to the dealer and ask for a software update?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

2006 cars should not need a software update.

WMA does not work in the dashboard slots on an iDrive equipped vehicle(*) WMA does work in a CD changer on an iDrive vehicle, or in the dash on a non iDrive car.

(*) based on s/w shipping late 2005/early 2006, and been a while since definitive info on this has been posted (2 x progman major versions) - anyone know if they've improved on this?
