Not bad...really, not bad... Honestly, if you're considering going to midpipes, and an axle back, the drone of the exhaust is probably not going to be your biggest concern (it's gonna be LOUD anyway). If you remove all muffling from the system it's gonna be loud and it's gonna drone. Period. I don't believe anyone who says their XXXX system with no cats, downpipes, midpipes, axle back and all is anything but loud and obnoxious. This system is not loud or obnoxious. In fact, at WOT it's almost too quiet. It sounds good, don't get me wrong, but it's not loud by any stretch.

I agree that the drone isn't bad. It's there, but very slight. This is in comparison to our virtually SILENT stock exhausts. YES, you'll know you have an aftermarket exhaust from inside, but it's not obnoxious by any means. I believe that if I add midpipes, however, it will be unbearable for me. If / when I do that, I'll probably have to look at a muffler type setup, or, get some midpipes with some serious resonators in them.
Overall, I'm VERY pleased with the axle back! Pretty sure it's NOT placebo, as I didn't feel this that day after the install, but 2 and 3 days after - I think it has actually even further smoothed out the power from the JB3 2.0. SMOOTH is all I can say and pulling like a freight train. The axle back DID change the feel of the power.

I agree, I really didn't expect any sort of gains in the feel of the car, but it sure does *feel* like the power is smoother. Midpipes would be obnoxoius and I'm too old for that sort of racket on a daily basis. (as an aside: I had an Elise with one of the original Quicksilver exhausts and it was almost nightmarish for daily driving. I had to make a 650 mi roadtrip with it and I had to use the same custom earplugs I use when on my Ducati...it sounded great at WOT blasting under bridges, etc...but man was it miserable for any length of time)

Did you measure the weight difference between this and the stock piece?
Looks very nice overall. The logo stamped on the top of the tips is a little obnoxious to me though... ianc |

The Active Autowerke Signature 135i Exhaust only weighs 25lbs while the stock exhaust is closer to 55lbs

because turbo cars are quieter... and the stock resonator is still there since it's only an axleback. i'm sure a full turboback system would be sufficiently loud =)

it sounds nice! It doesnt seem to intrusive at all. Then again, Im not one to complain about loud exhaust, as I can drive around all day in a car with a cammed V8 and straight pipes.

Anyone with the AA axel back please confirm whether their exhaust tips are off-center and hang to the right? My installer tells me this is just the way it is...

Your installer needs a creative side. Easy fix with some hose clamps attached to the hanger posts. I'll post a pic of what i did. 2 dollars and 2 minutes. DONE for good.
