Single click noise sometimes when blipping throttle

I've noticed that sometimes when I blip the throttle to rev match when downshifting I will hear a single click noise. It sounds like it's comming from the back of the car and also it sounds similar to a click I hear when turning off the car. It's a 2012 128i with about 80k KM on it.

Anyone have any idea what this might be? I was thinking maybe it's just the exhaust flap valve activating, but I don't think it should be that loud, and also I'm pretty it happens even when the revs don't go above 3500.

Yes , the exhaust flap. It is vacuum actuated. When you blip the throttle you lower the vacuum. I don't get the click now that I golf tee the flapper. Before that I could hear when it would flap shut.

Exhaust flap is fairly loud.

Yup. I did the golf tee mod today and it completely went away.

Yeah, get an aftermarket catback on there. Between what you said and a scratching noise after every start, I got tired of explaining to people that my high powered, well dressed luxury car is "supposed to sound like that."

128i doesn't have a scratching sound. Maybe that's a 135i thing?

Likely it just scratches when it needs to be greased. I probably could have greased it, but imo exhausts shouldn't have silly flaps anyway, so either way I was acting on principle when I swapped it.

This is the scratch noise, someone else's clip.

It's awful. The 128i and 135i have the same stock exhaust, so it should be applicable to both platforms.
