BSM 12 M-Sport Build!
Hey guys! I been part of the forum for about a year which is as long as I've owned my car. I've always wanted to make a build thread but because I didn't have an amazing camera for some reason I thought it wouldn't be as cool. I decided screw it! I've done a lot to my car over the last 8-10 months since I purchased it and would love to document it. Still plenty of things to do!
Mods done: BMW Performance CF Wing BMW Performance Grille BMW Performance CF Mirrors BMW Performance Exhaust BMW Performance Kit Stage 1 BMW Performance Pedals JB4 G5 ISO Flex fuel wires ER Charge Pipe BMS 3.5 Downpipe Ambient Thermal Management Intercooler OSRAM 5500K HID bulbs eBay 3 fin CF diffuser BMW 1M Floor mats To start with -- this is my 3rd BMW, but my first 'performance'. I've always been a Honda (VTEC YO!) guy owning Integra's to S2000's in the Honda family as well as the Civic SI. I've always wanted a boosted car, especially when I had my S2 and SRT4 and EVO's were the thing then. I finally got the snail August of last year! Here is a pic of my S2000 - I wrecked the car unfortunately over 6 years ago but it was my pride and joy in some ways I still miss it even with my 135i My 328i i traded for the 135i As you can see I love black! Day of purchase August 1: I got a great deal on the car it came with all the options and the previous owner was an older lady who turned in the lease with 26k miles. The day I drove the car off the lot I realized she must have spilled something as the carpet was brand new replaced but the i-drive controller was getting stuck! I got a brand spanking new i-drive which kept the car in and out of the shop for about 2 weeks post purchase which was annoying The very first thing I did post buying the car was get it detailed professional. If you're going to have a black car you better keep it swirl free i'm super OCD about my paint. The car looked downright amazing when it was done. It's just about time for another one, I'd like to polish it to that level 2 times a year. I do my best to keep the paint in good shape with chemical guys About a month into ownership I was jonesing for more power. As a new turbo owner having NA cars always made it hard to squeeze out power, so I had this amazing platform.. time for more.. At first I decided to be safe with the warranty so I was conservative and got the BMW PPK1 and BMW PE 2 weeks apart from each other, along with new spark plugs Christmas came early! The car sounded great post installation, the exhaust was a go once I heard a 135is in person I was concerned about noise and drone. This car sounds amazing. I decided to dyno it, figured I was putting close to 300WHP then which was my goal at the time. I found a place that charged me $60 for 3 runs. Looking back I wish I had paid $150 and found a place that cared. The shop owner was surprised when I showed up, his wife had scheduled the appointment and he got one of his guys to dyno the car which apparently has never done a DCT before. I was happy with the WHP but not the torque, I realized he was not going full throttle down low because the car down-shifted on him when he hit the switch twice. My torque numbers are off but here is the car on the dyno and the sheet anyway! I enjoyed the car thoroughly for a month with those mods but I just felt the car needed more power.. JB4!!! (love these guys) Stage 2 of course I ran MAP1, Map2 just didn't feel right without the downpipe felt like I was choking the car in the upper RPM's there goes the warranty right? :0 At this point I went into a boost craze and decided why the hell not go FBO? Many documented owners running high boost and high power with no issues, screw warranty! I can't say I regret getting the PPK1, the added noise from the gurgles/pops with the speed/tune of the Jb4 and sound of the exhaust is just, awesome. I decided to do the ER Charge pipe with 1 meth bung and I found a used BMS downpipe from a forum member. Flex fuel wires also What's all that power with no cooling huh? I shopped for IC for a few weeks and Ambient Thermal Management had just came out with theirs (original Hellix manu) so I jumped on it right away. You can find my review threads with logs here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1108670 Needless to say the car definitely woke up!! I plan to take it back to the dyno but currently running 4 gallons of E85 and map 5 I "virtual dyno" about 365 WHP and 400+ torque. I want real numbers from a real dyno however to compare to my PPK1/PE dyno. Putting the car in 2nd gear and mashing it brings a smile to my face! Speedo vids: At this state of the build I was "all go but no show!" had to do a few cosmetic things to liven the car up. BMW Performance CF wing. God I went back and forth on the install I'm not a very 'handy' guy and all the work to my car has been basically done by Eurowerks in Deerfield Beach, FL -- amazing shop and great people. I took the stock wing off but had the shop put the other one on. I can't speak highly enough of BMW CF quality: Loved how the wing looked so much I decided to also purchase the BMW Performance mirror covers. Originally I was going to do the 1M mirrors and while they're nice they are expensive and I didn't want to 'pose' on the car, cameo by my french bulldog toby lol The Xenon lighting on these cars is relatively weak compared to the newer BMW's, felt that anytime I pulled up to a 5 series that their HID output always drowned mine out. I couldn't have that anymore! OSRAM 5500K CBI - PITA to install but after about 10 hours of burn in they look amazing. I have not taken night shots but the output is better, wider, and brighter while being pure white no hint of blue. Finally as my most recent mod I purchased a used eBay 3 fin diffuser. I'd love to buy the BMWP but it is just too expensive, this will do for now: And this is how the car sits today after having the bumper resprayed to get rid of rock chips My mods have slowed down drastically as I'm now saving for a house, I'm about 6 grand into this car with parts and labor. I'm about to order a set of MPSS (pilot sports tires) to replace my RFT as my rear tires have minimal left. After that my wish list and remaining items are: OSS Designs AE BMW Performance Suspension or KW V2 coilovers BMW Performance OEM CF interior trim M3 steering wheel 313 wheels Pure Stage 2 BMW Performance Pedals I don't know that I'll finish all those but surely what I want! Stay tuned!

Very nice post thrilla. Your car is really coming along. My first 1er was BSM and coral red. The 313s will definitely add to your look. Too bad about your S2000... those cars are awesome and yours looked special. I had a Supra I felt the same way about. Wrecked it... and it killed me. Loving that pic with Toby.

Thanks guys, put a lot of work into it, figure would be nice to share so started thread!
I've never got over the s2000, was black w/ red interior also just like the 1, something bout that car being on rails that was just really fun to drive and it was one of the few cars that can pull off that ragtop look - hardtop was nice I had the civic si in between the s2000 and the 135i, floodgates opened up once I got my 1 regarding mods but the fiance will not appreciate me spending any major money anytime soon lo!! hopefully get this house this year so I can finish off. 313's high on my list for sure - I had blacklines but I picked up a used set and wasn't very happy with them so I resold them.. thinking doing that again along with the OSS AE would just finish the exterior of the car real nice.

I'm also having a bitch of the time with this 3 fin ebay diffuser I picked up off another member... doesn't clip in fully in the middile so I had to pull out the double sided tape... looks good from 3 ft out -- i see a performance diffuser in my future!
I'd love to pay this car off and keep it as well

with the install make sure u get all the clips right the first or 2nd time.. pulling the new ones off will wear down the clips and not make it sit right

nothing fancy but pulled trigger on BMW Performance Pedals, will post pic of install, not that anyone hasn't seen those before! lol. I was debating between those and the stainless steel pedal set but liked the performance ones more.
Furthermore I was ready to order a set of MPSS and the front tires are out of stock nationwide apparently until mid June. Shittty!
