What are you looking for in the wheels? They are very different in their designed purpose. The ARC8s will be the perfect offset to run wide tires without much/any fender modification. These are also one of the lightest wheels offered in an 18" staggered setup.
The VMRs come in 19" diameter but the offset is a little more aggressive, requiring either a narrower tire or significant fender rolling. The wheels are a bit heavier, which means something to those racing/autox'ing. Both wheels have been used extensively on this platform and both "work" but offer different benefits/draw backs. What do YOU want from a wheel? Looks? Performance? Hella-flush/slammed?

Arc 8.
Aside from lighter and perfect offset as mentioned, IMO (which is just that of course, an opinion) they simply look better. I don't care for the somewhat rounded spokes on the VMR's for a boxy car like ours. I think the flatter spokes of the Apex's just look better matched. And they recall the classic BMW BBS spoked wheels to an extent as well, without flat-out trying to duplicate them. Better function + better looks = win. |

EC7 is slightly heavier and, in my opinion, better-looking.

Well, the EC7 is a 14 spoke wheel (7x2 split) and the Arc8 is a 16 spoke wheel (8x2 split). I'm *this* close to pulling the trigger on Arc8s myself. Courage....
