Wet Roads - Massive Wheel Spin
Hi all
Just to check, any of you out there with massive wheel spin when the road is wet. I get fish tail 80% of the time. I tried to go easy but with DTC/DSC off, it is even worse. I am still using the factory runflats, still has 95% tread left. Thanks. |

If you don't mash the accelerator when the roads are wet, you shouldn't have too much of an issue.

The N54 (and N55) can deliver wheel spin on demand, wet or dry.
That being said, the important bit is "on demand". Try driving in bare feet, ie leave the lead shoes at home.

Are you seriously asking if 400nm of torque causes wheelspin with DSC off?
Feather your accelerator, keep traction control on and pretty much just common sense. I don't see why you would try to mash the accelerator in the wet.

Only reason it was off is because I was doing some logging and forgot to turn it back on. Definitely an oh shit moment! So it can happen! |

Even in the n52 I get spin in the wet. As the others say, feather that right pedal and keep her in check.
I purposely drive in gearbox M mode so I can choose my gears accordingly and keep her on her leash. I find half the blame is due to an over zealous gearbox in D mode. |

Clearly this is a case of lead footitis, or just irresponsible driving. You only get wheel spin when you are accelerating too hard, in the wrong gear. If you get wheel spin, get your foot off the pedal! |

You can get wheelspin in any car in any condition if you try hard enough. It's all up to the driver
