Aftermarket Seats and Sensors

Guys, I'm looking at putting some Recaro Speeds in my 1 series. I was going to order the OC3 seat Occupancy Sensor Emulation Module, but it disables the passenger airbag. I need this active as it is a daily driver and I'd rather not have my girlfriends skull bashed in if I were in an accident. Any suggestions (short if ditching my girl)?

I think there was more done than to just turn off the light and loose use of the airbag.. some others have done it.. its gonna take some searching here.. im leaving work and dont have the time to sit and search for you or i would..

as far as the GF... she may leave you after you make her get in and out of those seats on a regular basis.. im glad my GF loved my cars... even the ones with roll / door bars in them... it was fun watching her get in and out..

Heh, Yeah she is into cars, so no problem there I've done some searching on here, otherwise I wouldn't ask. Gonna keep looking, but it would be really nice if someone could chime in.

Hi..I'm frustrated with the same problem...got a 2008 128i and we must have damaged the sensor by kneeling on the passenger seat this summer. (During a bucket list tour of the USA, which was a blast).

In any event, there are several fixes listed on YouTube, and bypass circuits on EBAY, but none of them address the 1 series. (Example:
)

The underseat computer is entirely different than those shown, and although the sensor is probably the same, I don't know which connector of the 1 series computer would be affected.

If you found a solution please let me know....or perhaps an indication of which connector on the computer should have the bypass connected. -I'll try the bypass and let you know.

Thanks!

can't the light be turned off by coding? I would think if the seat belt chime or light can be coded out the the airbag light should be able to? would have to find the master coders out there.

Yes, I'm pretty sure some one like Patrys@BimmerTech could do this.
