215 55R17 HELP!!

i was wondering , i put on 215 55R17 on my rims and i found out that , if i get the wheel all the way to one side , the tire touches the guard sightly. I wanna know what are the disadvantages for that and if i should get them removed before they destroy anything. Thanks

Looks like you got the non-sport package wheels on your 128 which means you had 205/50x17 tires previously. The 215/55x17 is 4.7% taller than stock. I read somewhere that you shouldn't deviate more than 3%, otherwise it can affect braking and/or possibly damage some brake components.

Others more versed in these matters can advise you better. But that's what I read somewhere.
