All 3 cars performed identically. That's what happened, I'm not going to quote figures as the figures vary from dyno to dyno, and operator to operator...

What WILL be interesting, is the gains made by a chip & downpipe..

Putting a car on a dyno and then not quoting figures is cruel! Like sleeping with Paris Hilton and not bragging about it!

As Kris mentioned there are a lot of variants from dyno to dyno and operator to operator..
Our cars pulled between 165 to 170kw at the rear wheels in 4th gear at around 170km/h..

Fantastic results for a stock 135i with only 350km's on the dial..

Interesting, as a total idiot with regards to these things, isn't that a fair bit south of the quoted 225 killerwasps?

No not at all Simon. The 225kw is the engine power, whereas dyno measures it at the wheel. The drivetrain "eats" away some of the power, usually about 15-20% for a RWD car. So 170kw is about right.

Thats correct Wayne..225kw is at the flywheel..
you loose about 20 to 25% through the gearbox and diff..

170kw on the dyno is at the rear wheels or on the road..

Prateek..off the top of my head I think it was 6800RPM..
The printed graph doesnt show RPM but I recall the tech saying it was around there..I would have to check with Kris burt work of 6800..

6500rpm, a tad over in some cases.. no point going more, the turbos cut off boost drastically at 5650rpm as shown by the vaccum log

Well done guys

I can only ask/request for dyno charts as well.....up to you guys though...

I'm very interested in the torque numbers as well as AFR's etc. etc.

Would interesting to find out ' if ' the stock tune/settings are the same or similar to cars from other parts of the World ??

Alot of the time, factory turbo car tunes are specifically designed to deal with the poorest of octane fuel qualities as a safeguard and vary from Country to Country...

170kw ATW is a good stock result, although I would've expected a 24% RWD drivetrain loss with an auto, not so high for manuals :iono:

One things for sure, that figure is going to rise sharply with ecu tunes and other mods looking forward to seeing how you guys go then

Wraith, don't read into the results too much. Like I said, dyno's vary so much it's not funny. Our operator asked us what figured we wanted at the wheels - he could easily give us 200kw atw if we wanted - it's all in the dyno setup and operator.

I'm sure if we took our car around the corner to another dyno we might see a completely different result.

I'll post dyno charts of my stock car when I do a chip tune - as that's when the charts will be useful.

FYI though, AFR starts out at about 14.4 and drops all the way to around 12.6 when the car is doing around 6800rpm or 180km/hr. Car is putting out on this dyno, around 165 to 170kw, 12.6 AFR @ 6800rpm. Torque is 400NM

Yep nice solid results doesn't mean much though as has been said but will be a good base figure to work off for future mods.

Id like to know does anybody have a link to some good information on the engine like has it got forged pistons etc etc. I already no that the direct injection and close spacing between injector and spark is good news for higher boost applications. Only limiting factor will be the flow rating of the small turbos. Wonder when we'll see the first turbo swaps lol

170 is about what I expected and for a little car, that's fantastic.
Dynos are a tuning tool, they aren't a definitive measure but it is fun to compare figures.
