Commemorative Book & Certificate of Authenticity - Military folks
Howdy folks.
Just so all the military folks who took delivery overseas. I just got off the phone with BMWNA today, to see how I could get the 'book', everyone is raving about. She was very nice and up beat. As soon as I said I was military and overseas her toned changed as I had referenced the book as to the reason for my call. Rule #1 - YOU must take delivery in the USA to get the book and certificate. It won't be retroactive - boo. Bummer I know. I think we need to write a letter and have all the military folks post here and get a petition going! It would be nice to have, but I guess 'we' are just not part of the 'marketing thing' as she called it. Have fun driving overseas - I am

Word. It was awesome while it lasted. I'm happy to have traded the commemorative book for the 5000 miles I put on it while in Germany. In two months.

I am REALLY worried about going back to the States...every time I think I'm going slow I look down at my speedometer and I'm doing 80 MPH. 50 MPH feels like 25 MPH used to... Did you get any tickets when you went back?

No, you realize how shitty people drive here and it makes you paranoid. The other side of the coin is that when the road opens up, free of traffic, and you decide to put your foot into it, it really makes you miss the better roads and less idiotic traffic in Germany. FWIW, I bought a Passport i9500 not long after I got back for just those occasions.

...feel ya on the "idiotic traffic". It is amazing how the Germans actually watch thier rear-view mirrors and move over for faster traffic i suppose the radar detector and plenty of track days (SCCA membership?) will have to fill the bill.
