Hi ... I've had my Carbon Black for a couple of weeks now (we got to order ours in March). He are a couple of pics. Its black with a metalic blue tinge. Under flourescent lights it looks black but in the sunlight the blue comes out. Looks great. This colour has been around with the M3 since the E46.

Thanks Mate. ... Mine has the black leather with blue stiching and it looks great. BMW have really given the 1 series a nice little make over for its last year. I havent taken any photos of the seats but people have commented how good they look and if you had a tri stiched M wheel it would set that off well too.
Here is another photo of my car between a BSM and LeMans Blue to give you another idea of the difference in color. |

Carbon black is amazing, you won't regret it. Black under low light conditions with the slightest blue/purple tint under lots of light.

Number 1's
That's a great pic. Are 1's popular down under? I've owed BMW's since my first 2002 in 1971. I've owned 3's, 5's, 6's and 7's. currently own a ZM and a 328. I wanted to wait and get a new 2 or 4 series vert but after driving the new 3 series and a 1 series, I'm convinced that the 1 is the last true "ultimate driving machine". The new 3's are nice but they are too big, the new nose is butt ugly and the steering reminds me of a Cadillac.
I can't wait until July 1, to order one of the last great Bimmers.

I had Carbon Black on my M3. It is a great color. Looks black, and then in bright enough light, it has a blueish/purple hue to it. It's really one of those colors that only you as the owner get to appreciate when you see it in different lights.
