New headlights installed

Picked up these Venom lights from VIPmotoZ on ebay...pretty easy installation, no codes, I just turned off the DRL's....will be wiring the halos as DRL's, picked up a nice fog/driving light wiring harness with lighted switch, fuse, and relay for only 15 bucks...the bluish tint of the high beam is from the blue bulbs that came with the lights.

They look nice, pretty close to LCI OEM, well a similar design with the corners. You should change the orange blinker bulb for a silver coated one, gives a nice clean look.
I was going to go this route but decided to retrofit OEM instead.

More pics plz...Looks nice, I am guessing you replaced it with Halogens. How much did it cost? I have '12 128i with halogens and thinking about upgrading as well.

Will post a pic with the halos on, when I get them wired...

The orange bulbs don't bother me, they look "brighter" in the pic than they really are....

The headlights are really gorgeous, with the chrome inside finish, the white "line" gone from the top of the headlights, and the orange gone from the sides...plus the projectors look much cooler than the stock low beams. The halos look very BMW, too.

Two concerns: the durability of the halos...I'll use then sparingly; and the low beams look a little dim (the high beams are fantastic)...I'm thinking it's the crappy Chinese H7 bulbs...just ordered Hella H7's (halogens with no blue coating) in both 100w and 55w...if the 55's aren't brite enough, I'll use the 100's, even if they are illegal....let the cops try and catch me

Do you have to take off the bumper cover to replace the headlamps?

Yes...it's not too bad though...you don't have to raise the car...just make sure you get all the bolts out under the wheel wells...the ends of the bumper "snap in" under the headlights...careful you don't break the tabs...put some towels down, in case it "jumps off" on you.

The low beams are much better now....they were way too low...still have the Hella bulbs coming in both 55 and 100 watt...the H7 bulbs in there now are crappy, one is brighter than the other, and they're not bright enough, plus that "bluish-white" light just doesn't lite up the road like a nice warm halogen...pretty sure the Hellas will be a big improvement....going to wire the halos this weekend.

I've got everything hooked up now, the halos are on a separate lighted switch...they're not CCFL's, so they're barely visible in daylight, but look very cool when you flip them on night...since they're very low power, you can leave them on probably for a few hours....

Here's all the good news: these are the best looking lights, IMHO, that I've seen for 1 series cars, period...and a price of $230 is incredible...I sold the stock lights on ebay for more than that...the Hella bulbs really woke these up....the bluish bulbs that came with these are useless, the light is whiter than halogens, but who cares?...there's not enough of it and they don't have that "wide spray" of light that halogens are great at....I put the 100w Hellas in the projectors, the cut-off plates built into these are perfect...you'll know if you have the beam too high, everybody will be flashing you...I put the 55w Hellas in the hi beams and adjusted them just inside and slightly above the projectors (aimed at a wall about 30 feet away)...this set-up is perfect...there's great dispersion from the projectors, especially on the right where the deflector plate rises up, and the hi beams light up the road well past the projectors, great for when you're flying at night...very, very pleased with this set-up, and with the LCI blacklines lit with the LCD bars only, I'm finally happy with the lights on this car...
