Ha, just posted that-

I just noticed that the "Lightweight Titanauspuffanlagen" 1M has the side grille stickered so it looks like it's an open grille. Looks pretty good after looking here http://www.mycarportal.net/wp-conten...toshoot-09.jpg

And here http://www.titanauspuffanlagen.de/content/bmw_m1.htm

people may laugh, but it'll be easier that vinyl to apply since the crease seems like a difficult area for the vinyl cuts and application to be perfect.
no air bubbles. no risk of edges peeling. cheap enough to just keep spraying on if you ever experience peeling; but I used to have the regular plast-dip on my work truck, and it was pretty durable, even through car washes.

If you wanted irreversibility, I'd just get it painted. I would cringe at the possibility of having a change of heart and wanting it undone.

Cutting, carbon part glueing, vinyl, paint, spray, etc.

But what about simply a mini-wrap: just the crease/vents in your fave color (even in the three colors of the ///M logo, if you like) ?

Just noticed that, alike the 1M, the new M6 also gets closed side crease/vents.
@Papethova: sure you want to proceed with your plans to open the ones on your 1M ? (+ what about rain infiltration ?)

Other detail: unlike the 1M, the M6 side intakes get a mesh grille (ditto for the future M3)

My car does not see rain (it rarely rains here and when it does my cars dont go leave the garage). Before cutting anything I plan on inspecting what will be exposed but rain isnt much of a concern for me.

If BMW continues to incorporate a closed crease though, I may have to leave it. Ill reconsider when the time comes to actually do this.

Yes I saw that it looks good. I just think the vinyl extends too far on the bottom and maybe even the top.

I like the mesh grill in the intakes. I wonder if there is some way we can incorporate this onto our cars.

I easily can do that. Im working on mesh in the rear bumper right now... not the oem front mesh. Ill have pics but the openings are so small it may not make much of a noticeable difference

Check my picture comparo of the 1M, M5, M6 and M135i front ends: only the 1M didn't get the mesh grille in the side air intakes. Anyway, M3 also had two "open holes" (with fog lights)...

If the black mate wrap looks good why not at fake carbon fiber wrap for your side vent?

I dont see a point of a CF wrap. The look of the CF doesnt appeal to me. If its CF then that is different because thats the look of CF but to wrap something to look like CF just isnt my thing.
