Euro Delivery

Anyone going to do a euro delivery? Any word on whether or not cloth interior will be available? (Yes, I've seen the posted brochure, but I'm hoping someone has an inside track on cloth interior of the //Motorsport variety).

I'm going to do Euro Delivery... get about $2500 in tariffs off the car, and get to visit my cousin in Stuttgart.
I still hear no cloth available...

ED doesn't give you access to different options. Sorry.

I'm doing ED and its a phenomenal trip. I did one for my wife's 330i, and its the only way to buy a BMW as far as I'm concerned (if you have the time and can wait 2 months for your car once you get back stateside).

The car is completely US-Spec so forget your dreams of a sunroof-less car with a cloth interior.

It's what my dealer estimated. The Tariffs are based on the price of the car, and with similarly priced vehicles it was between 2400 and 2600. That's using msrp mind you. I don't know if that value changes with the options or not.

FWIW, Base prices change for ED orders, but option prices do not.

Don't forget that the beauty of ED is that dealers are much more willing to negotiate.

Figure out your options and what the invoice price of the car will be and find a dealer willing to go over whatever you feel comfortable (usually around $1000).

The $2500 discount from listed by BMW is only a starting point.

Good luck with that. I've found that dealers have a lot more paperwork and organization to successfully complete an ED sale.

Sure, they don't come out of the dealer allocation, but the CAs have to do more work for them and I've found that they are less willing to negotiate with you, because they already know you're getting a large discount by doing the ED.

^ awesome, good for you...

Back on topic, and back to reality, if I purchase a new BMW (1er or 3er); yes, I'll do ED...

There is a guy on here that has ED'd 2 BMW's, I think he estimated an 11% overall savings. I'm sure he will chime in to correct me if necessary...

We have a free trip to Europe next year, but I don't think I'm going to be buying as soon as I thought...

If 11% is accurate, that's 4000... that would be incredible. Save 2500 - 4000 and drive the autobahn with it, what choice do I have???

Hey, where there's a will, there's a way. I wish you luck. I once saw a picture of a cloth interior in a U.S.-spec 3-series sedan (E46), so it CAN be done if you badger the right dealer who badgers the right person at the factory.

Attached is a picture of the //Motorsport cloth in my e30 M3. I now have the Motorsport (Hurricane) cloth in my 318ti.

Hopefully I won't have to resort to badgering...But I will if I have to.

depending on the model. Some people also factor in the money they're getting back from being a member of BMWCCA.
