After already putting down the 1k deposit and having the car on order, they didn't let me drive it alone. I even asked, they told me they haven't been allowed to let people take tests drives alone for a long time. My mother went to another dealership in Ocala (she's 56 mind you) and they also told her she couldn't drive it alone... So I don't know...

Oh, thanks man. I didn't mean to accuse. I'm just a bit snippy right now in response to all the flaming. I expected some, but wow. You guys are definitely going lighter than the guys on e46fanatics though. Besides being angry, they bash the 135i because its "ugly, and over priced." I just think they are sad it schools their cars for what they paid.
One of the few reasonable posts: Its about the same price as a 2006 330ci NEW. It has WAY more performence. As for it being a little go-cart. Here are the specs from edmunds: 2008 135i: Length: 171.7 in. Width: 68.8 in. Height: 55.4 in. Wheel Base: 104.7 in. Curb Weight: 3373 lbs. Gross Weight: 4255 lbs. Interior Front Head Room: 37.9 in. Front Shoulder Room: 56 in. Rear Head Room: 37.1 in. Rear Shoulder Room: 55 in. Luggage Capacity: 13.1 cu. ft. Maximum Seating: 4 http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/bmw/...975/specs.html 2006 330ci: Length: 176.7 in. Width: 69.2 in. Height: 53.9 in. Wheel Base: 107.3 in. Curb Weight: 3285 lbs. Interior Front Head Room: 36.3 in. Front Shoulder Room: 54.5 in. Rear Head Room: 36.2 in. Rear Shoulder Room: 52.7 in. Front Leg Room: 41.7 in. Rear Leg Room: 33.2 in. Luggage Capacity: 9.5 cu. ft. Maximum Seating: 5 http://www.edmunds.com/used/2006/bmw...317/specs.html I get this e46 fanatics. I get that alot of you are bumming right now because this car will chew up your 330's. But if you are going to dismiss it. Get your facts straight." http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...=564208&page=4 Post #65 |

I think this thread needs to be closed. It's not right to hurl insults at each other.

I love how everyone on here has this "holier than though" attitude. every single one of you breaks the speed limit on a daily basis, rolls through stop signs, talks on your cell phone, reaches for something that fell on the floor of the car. cuts off truckers. are any of these offenses less illegal than what this kid claims he did. and where does the line get drawn? glass houses people. im sure hes embellishing on the entire story. grain of salt... unless you were the two people on the sidewalk.

Wow - this wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Fairly good constraint and a minimum of name-calling.
Now, let me tell you about the burnout we did in the Viper-engined Ram truck in the press fleet . . . opps, maybe I better not. ; -) |

There's a huge difference in breaking the speed limit and doing smoking burnouts around people in a car you don't even own. Seriously. What response did the OP expect to get with that post? A pat on the back and a "Give it hell!" Posting shit like that on a public forum will get exactly the response you've seen here, and no one should expect anything less. |

I'd be lying if I said I never did anything stupid in a car when I was young. But I am so, so grateful I never hurt anyone or anybody elses vehicles; only my own. Unfortunately, the young can only learn through their own experiences, not through the experience of others.
Although it might seem cool to brag to your teen age buddies that you trashed some demo car on public roads, yeah, rural is public, too, it isn't so cool here.
