Man, $46,050 for the way I want it. Hm... I might have to consider going back to the IS350 which (don't get me wrong) is just as fun to drive as well. And I should be able to get it for $39,500 with the sports package and the Navigation/Mark Levinson package.

But the way the car is marketed (no compromises sport coupe in the spirit of BMW), it's petty that they'd have a separate sport package.

So does the base 135i come with leatherette? The two upgrades I'd probably want are leather and premium sound. I've also been interested in the Z4 coupe (which comes with leather and premium sound in the base model).
So it looks like the 135i optioned for me will only be a couple thousand less than the Z4 coupe. I'll have to think about this one. |

What is everyone complaining about? Pricing came in exactly where everyone expected, and options are at the same prices as every other BMW. BMW options have always been expensive. Comfort access and bun warmers are all I need. Leather would be nice (mostly for color choices), but 3k is not worth it. The best color is free (go AW!!) Who needs their car to be their cell phone and map? That stuff will all be obsolete in 5-10 yrs anyway. And premium audio, are you kidding me? The radio stations around here suck ass and your iPod is going to sound like shit over decent speakers anyway. Go play your CDs at home. /rant |

Fail to see what the surprise is... If you really really need them, then pay and enjoy. If you consider them just fluff, then the base car is still $35k. :iono: Quote:
It's cheaper, you get to break it in on Alpine passes (oe whatever), perhaps drive the Ring, have some great beer, show the missus the glamours of Europe. You show me any other car in this segment that does this, I'll take it.

It seems like the people who are pissed about the pricing are people who want one with all the goodies. Sorry folks, but what did you expect?
If you pick a few choice options and leave the rest of the list alone, a 135i for around $37,500 is a great value. It's hard to feel sorrry for you just because you can't get it with leather, nav, etc. for $35,000. |
