Im at the pump like every 4 friggin days!

Short trips kill the mileage for sure. I'm in the same boat. My office is less than 5 miles from my apartment, and the car doesn't even get warmed up. Then I go out for lunch and it's the same thing.

If I'm just going back and forth to work I'll average around 16MPG. If I'm doing some running around on the weekends it will go up to around 20MPG, and then on road trips it's 25-27MPG depending on how fast I'm running. At a steady 70MPH the car seems to be close to 29MPG based on my experience, but it falls off pretty good as you exceed that.

A new exhaust helps a lot. After nI got my performance exhaust installed my MPG numbers went up by about 3 MPG.

I got my car at 6 miles on it.. 1st fill up was at 200 miles which means I was able to go 194 miles with 16.1 mpg average. I think I am a little pushing it during break-in period, and didn't pass 5k rpm yet. almost all in-city miles.

I can get close to 30 MPG--just have to alter the driving style. If you keep your revs under 3K, and are willing to drive around town in 6th (at 35-40 mph) then you can still get ~25 in town.

It just really depends on how much you put your foot into it--at least for my car.

The best i have ever done on one tank was 356 miles--with about ~20 miles still remaining according to the CPU. It took just over 13 gallons to fill up--so 376/13 is just under 29 MPG. But I had to reaaaaaaally try to get it to that level--nothing above 75 on the interstate, using cruise, no passing, all highway. You know the drill.....

Makes me wonder if we can have the best of both worlds with a turbocharged 4 banger in the 1er supersport down the road. More consistent gas mileage and the same kind of power......

Wow. You guys are really getting some good mileage out of our little gas tank. I usually get arounf 225-250 miles out of a tank, and that's even with a little highway driving. My OBC says I'm getting 20.8MPG. I guess that's the cost of always getting those turbos spooling.

The tires seem to make a difference. I was getting about 24.5 mpg with winter tires, and 23.5 mpg with the "stickier" sport package summer performance tires.

Might also just be the weather or how you're driving (not as cautiously maybe). I'm sure the summer tires are a little worse, but I'd be surprised if you can measure it.

I'm getting about 200-220 miles per fill-up, filling up around 1/4 tank each time. This is all city driving mind you, and seldom, if never highway (that's an average work week).

However, when I first got the car, I was doing commutes down to San Diego (as some of you may remember) to visit my dying uncle. I was getting over 300 miles per tank on those trips.
