My E46 windshield pitted?

I have a 2003 325i that has a windshield that does not like my microfiber cloths. After cleaning the glass I use a microfiber cloth to do a little buffing. I am not a fanatic but like a clean window. The cloth appears to be catching on the window. By that I mean when I run the cloth across or try to buff the glass it sticks to the widow. Say I have the cloth folded in half the bottom stays with the windows while the top move along. Could it be that the glass has so many minor pits and scratches, non of which are visible, the the cloth is unable to float across the glass? Comments welcome.

Could also be debris on the windshield.

Thank you for the link. But he was cleaning a Bentley, how do I clean a BMW? Just joking. I did some of the things he mentioned and it appears to have done some good. I will have to pick up more supplies and try the whole cleaning routine. Tks again.

Ask your insurance company that your window is pitted and needs replacing. Most states have a zero deductible on glass and will replace a pitted windshield due to safety concerns at night with reflections. Ask any glass shop or your agent to replace the windshield.
