Non-metallic yet "metallic" Tint

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a metallic-looking tint that is truly not metallic? I have Comfort Access and want the "metallic" look on my windows, but I know the problems with metallic tint and CA. Any help would be appreciated. I have searched all over google and in this forum but can't seem to find one.

Thanks in advance!

Guess no one knows... I don't. Have you talked to a tint shop?

i am not sure about the 'CA' part, but my E90 tint is on some kind of metallic looking tint, the shop call them black chrome. 50 % on all windows, only the front with 75%.

Johnson Films has a Hybrid tint called Silhouette. It's an Aluminum & Charcoal Dyed Construction. I haven't had any problems with it thus far. It gives an awesome metallic like shine when the sun hits it...but has that nice darkness of the charcoal dye.

I have Johnsons Metallic film on my car. I have Comfort Access. It works.

It was a big step down to go from my Integra to the E90 in tems of alarm because the Clifford AG4 that I installed had about a solid 250 foot range. When I first got the E90 it maxed out at ~70 on a good day and usually didnt work until I was about 50 feet away.
Now with 40% tint, it doesnt pick up until I'm about 40 feet away. This is annoying since unlocking the car starts up the iDrive computer so when you get in the music starts instantly. But again, its not that big of a deal, the seatbelt chime is bigger nuisance.

Comfort Access continues to work as it always has. I've yet to have a problem and I have my keys in my pocket about 60% of the time.

Do you have any pics of your tint?
And also what percentage?
(I was just quoted $180 for Johnson Silhouette.)

I was thinking about 40% all the way around.
I was surprised to see they offered 40%!

I have an appointment to get Huper-Optik done (for $400!),
but I was thinking about backing out.
How is the Johnson at blocking heat?

I have noticed a significant reduce in heat since I had these put on. And night time isn't too bad even with the auto dimming rearview.

Sorry thd, I don't...so I guess my previous post doesn't really help you much. However, when I asked the installer if this will mess up any type of radio antannae or GPS data...he said no...since it's not fully metallic, it shouldn't have any interference.

That is real nice looking. I'm thinking it will look great on TiAg!
Nice wheels too.

I called Johnson today;;they said it might interfere a bit with radio,
but not nearly as much as their fully metallized film.

Hmmmm....decisions, decisions.

I don't know how it would interfere with the radio, since the antannae is outside. But I get my stations loud and clear.

Our radio antennas are built into the rear windshield, right where the tint would be.
Tint doesn't necessarily always affect reception in the way you're describing.

I have Solargard Quantum (HIGHLY reflective & fully metallized) on my 323Ci & the stations come in fine BUT....
...I noticed that after the tint job, when I use the scan function, a lot of stations end up getting skipped whereas before they were strong enough to be picked up.

Not a big deal, but likely an even much lesser deal with the Silhouette.

BTW, do you have any side shots of your car?
