Re your choice of Dinan S2 suspension.

Why S2 vs their double adjustable coilover setup? Rules?

Yes, we can't have coilovers in Stock Class. So we'll be working with Steve and his guys this year to custom tailor a set of their Stage 2 for our car.

Hi All -

In getting ready to race for 2009, we go the Dinan oil cooler kit installed

But we really needed to address over heating the front brakes. The guys at BMS in Santa Ana fabricated some front ducts to hose adaptors and also some hose adapters onto the OEM brake dust shields

Thanks - not doing too much these days as we await Bimmerfest and then the BMW Club Races at the end of May.

We did have the car on display at a Goodyear Service Center in Huntington Beach a couple of weeks ago.

Hi Scoot,

I saw that Dinan have sway bars 28,5mm front and 15mm rear, but H&R have 27mm front and 20mm rear!

That is big difference! For reduce underteers, better bigger say bar front or rear??
Vividracing told me that I have to chance the sway bar only rear...
I don't know what I have to do...

On my 135i, for sport street moutain and few track use, I'm thinking on buy:
- Rines OZ Ultraleggera R18: 8,5 front and 9 rear;
- Tires Bridgestone RE-11 225/40 front and 245/35 rear;
- Coilovers Bilstein PSS10 kit or KW v3 kit
- Camber plates Worshlag.

I hope reducing understeers and front tires wear too, because sport or track driving with stock 135i is too much expensive for the front tires! (Mine: 5000 miles and dead!).

A lot depends on the car and what you are doing with the front grip.

For us, we like to increase front tire size and widen the front track. For example, a well set up e46 likes a lot of front camber/track and does not need a lot of rear sway (less rear sway helps put the power down).

For the 135, if you are not increasing the front tire, then increasing rear sway may work.

As Scott noted, there is lots of variables. But if you want to add more front grip to a 135i, I'd go with a bigger front bar first, and then lots of negative camber up front, really as much as you can get. The lack of front negative camber reduces grip and increases tire wear when you push the car very hard for autox and racing use since you are only using the outside of the tire.

Yes, Turner Motorsport confirmes that Scott said:

Depends of the tires's width...
If you have strong tires front, strong bar front is good, but:

How I go with only 225 front and 255 rear, I'll try to put only a H&R rear sway bar.
With camber plates Vorshlag and Bilstein PSS10 Coilovers...
And I'll have too the Quaife dif. (help to "acept" the strong rear bar), so I hope the car will better...

In 2-3 weeks (time to receive parts in Spain and instal in my car), I can give you the "result" of these changes.

If you go to Bimmerfest just South of Santa Barbara this Saturday, we'll have the car there at the Nitto Tire display.

So I did take the car to Bimmerfest, hanging out at the Nitto trailer and letting people sit in the car

Hi All - Just got back from Cal Speedway, and another successful weekend for the Total/Nitto 135.

Driver Ralph Warren broke the previous H-Stock class track record of 1:55.761 with a 1:55.250

After some racing action, it's always good to wind down a little with a fun public appearance. So we attended the SPOCOM show at the Long Beach Convention center this past weekend. We were part of the Nitto Tire display

Some may recognize Lina from the movie "You Don't Mess With the Zohan"

Some phm girls stopped by the booth
