Jb4 maps what do you guys like best 1,2 or 5??
Hey guys, so far I have a jb4 with the dci and running map 5..I just ordered up the m.t d.p's as refered by some board members(thanks)..I like map 5 so far when compared to the map 1..How would map 2 compare against 5 when I install the d.p's??I would like to know your thoughts on map 5 vs map 2 with your mods,and daily driving condtions.Thanks!!

Since map 5 autotunes based on what it feels is appropriate, and since you have only a DCI, map 2 will make you nice and happy
I'm assuming map 5 is getting you up to about 12-13 psi, since that's what it generally produces for me (stock DPs). Map 2 will get you up to 14.5 psi, so that's an extra ~2 psi. On top of that, downpipes will allow the turbos to breathe better and produce 15-20 horses on a STOCK car.. the gains on a tuned car will be greater (up to 30 hp). Considering that you're also bumping up to map 2 and increasing the boost, all around you get a nice kick in the pants Note that this isn't from experience. But I've ridden in a car with DPs and map 2 (a heavier 335i, too!), and I know that was significantly faster than my car on map 5 (or even short bursts of map 2, which is alright according to Mike @ N54tuning if you got a DCI, catback exhaust, 93 octane) in a heavier car.

I heard lots of poeple using map 2 with 93 oct and dci's,but I don't know how safe that really is..Yes usually I'm seeing around 12 to 13 alot but have even seen 14 to 15 but not consistently..Last night I saw 14 on a couple of pulls because it was a bit cooler,but tonight was more around 13.I can't wait to feel map 2 wit the d.p's..How come people say map 5 is stronger then 2?

I still have never tried map 5 up to this day. I have never had DCIs on my car. I switched from map 1 to map 2 when I installed my downpipes. It was a noticeable difference between the two maps, however with the increased boost, heatsoak became a major problem for me in this Florida weather, so I had to get a FMIC pronto! Map 2 feels great with just downpipes and intercooler, but map 7 is a whole different level (that's what I'm on now but using 104 unleaded as well).

I'm on map 2 with just DCI and some octane booster. I cannot deal with map1 - WAY slower. I know I should have DPs for map 2, but the car runs nice, smooth and powerful for now, without 'em.

i still have my dp's in so i do map 5 , technically cant do map 2..
with dci, fmic, and map 5 i could get easily 14 psi.. now that i got meth i got 15-16 psi and feels strong and timing advance is very smooth.. im sure with dps id hit solid 16 psi all the time. for OP.. id say map 2 unless you have a FMIC too.. then go map 5..

Yeah, car just runs so stinkin smooth all the time (with the booster) I've never really worried about it. I probably ought to try out map 5 and see how much it's auto-tuning power differs from map 2. Terry says there's other guys up in CO here that run map2 with no DPs just fine, so... I dono. Need to get some DPs.

Mike told me one time a couple months ago map 2 is ok with dci's and 93 oct..I was a bit worried to try it ,so I just left it on map 5 and there some day it hits up to 14.5 even 15.It's more at 14 on average,it amazing how map 5 adjusts..I also noticed 5 has better throttle resonse then map 1,do you gys feel the same way??I would love to try map 2 but haven't installed my dp's yet..Bad news is I might have to sell my car,My stupid girl might be prego.Sucks ass.

Poeple have been telling that map 1 pulls harder then map 5, with 93 and dci's is this true??They say cause the map 1 always hit's 13.5 rather then 5 always ranging on condtions..
