First Z4 Coupe (regular and ///M-Coupe) to be delivered June 2006
BMW Z4 COUPE WILL BE OUT IN JUNE 2006. M COUPE RETURNS.
11/22/2005 Munich. Following strong consumer reaction to the concept Z4 Coupe at the 2005 Frankfurt and Tokyo Auto Shows, BMW has confirmed that both the Z4 Coupe and an M version, the M Coupe will enter series production. Visitors in Frankfurt and Tokyo were captivated by the car’s stylish body with its unique silken matte finish, tailored in the very best style of a classic sports coupe. While the driving dynamics potential of the vehicle was clear in its strong, purposeful lines, equally appealing to visitors was the striking interior design. To be produced in Spartanburg, S.C., the first vehicles will be delivered to customers as early as June 2006. The proven 255 horsepower (U.S. SAE net) in-line 6-cylinder engine with its high output and lightweight magnesium and aluminum construction promises superior agility and high performance. It not only catapults the Z4 Coupe to the top of the international competitive field but is also demonstrates the enormous performance capacity of the fundamental BMW Z4 Roadster concept – which forms the basis of the coupe. BMW is also working to produce a high-end variation as quickly as possible and the result will be the return of the M Coupe, based on the new Z4 Coupe. Powered by the exciting 3.2-liter high-rpm engine, familiar from the BMW M3 and winner of many international awards, it will also come out in June 2006. More detailed information on the BMW Z4 Coupe and Z4 M Coupe will follow in early 2006. ________________ Anyone need another bimmer for their garage?? I'll take an M-Coupe thank you. ________________ |

I'd be game for that. Put on some wider rubber and hold on. My only reservation would be the M-version with the S54 (E46M3) engine. That would probably hurt re-sale.

These engines are not looking good for an early release of the 335. Why put the 255bhp and 3.2 M engines in the coupe if you have the 335 in the E92?

The Z4 coupe is just an update to an existing model line and BMW wouldn't want to debut a new engine in an old model. |

I'm not feeling it like I did the Z8 . Granted they have $70k seperating them but I would have hoped for a more classic styling as in the Z8 (my favorite BMW ever - if you can't tell). It doesn't look bad, I just won't be trading in my 3 for a Z4 coupe anytime soon.

I've never really been a fan of convertibles but I liked the previous M-Coupe that some would call the ugliest bimmer. When the Z4 came out, it just didn't do anything for me as the styling was a little strange for my taste. But this Z4 Coupe is amazing looking! The M-version is going to be an awesome car.
I keep looking at the picture and can't believe that the front is the same car but the roof adds so much to it's look. I think it's a beautiful car and I would even consider purchasing a two-door car even though I don't like coupes. |

I saw pictures of the new Z4 in the new Autoweek magazine and its hott. If i didnt need the space i would definitely trade in my 3 for it. The interior is so nice as well as the body. I just want to see what the price range will be. Anyone heard anything???

I have to agree. The Z3 got the 3.0 (M54) shortly after the E46 did. The new 3.0 liter straight-six engine, designated as the M54, is the latest design from BMW engineers, replacing the M52 engine. The new power unit was featured for the first time in the 2001 models including the X5, the 3 Series Coupe, Sedan, Touring, Convertible, Z3 Roadster, and Z3 Coupe. |

that car is friggin gorgeous
Even the M version probably won't have the nice balance of the Cayman, but it just may smoke it in a straight line I think I may have found my 3's next housemate |

I suppose they could amp the engines in fall 2007, but the folks that bought in the summer might be miffed. The 335 seems HUGE for the NA market. I think it would be a mistake to do a euro debut or an E92 debut and hold off on the NA/other models release for very long. It will be the elephant sitting in the room.
