I recall reading somewhere I think it was UUC reccomended a concoction of two different fluids to dampen the associated NVH with a SMF...

sounds like BS to me

Mind you the the input shafts are different in the 135 and 1M and that might have a lot to do with it.

Speculation only.

The 1M Shaft is better supported by the flywheel that's why maybe there is
less noise as the shaft is one piece

As you can see the 135 flywheel has a shaft coming from the flywheel where as the 1M protrudes
into the flywheel.

Hmm I was thinking that yesterday there would be differences with the 135i but obviously you got it to work or that motiv had offered a 1M specific clutch?

There's a motiv GB going on for anyone who's keen:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1231806

1-3. 1775+ shipping
4-9. 1750+ shipping
10-15. 1675+ shipping
16-20. pricing will be released on this if we get this many people.

Must admit I would love to retain the oem clutch but dont wish to spend $2k on a stock clutch/DMF and then in future upgrade turbo/s and have to go to a motiv then...

I've got a brand new looking stock clutch sitting on the shelf in my garage
as it can't hold the power.

After you drive with the motiv you wont even hesitate of buying one.

From what I was told anything before 09 has the 8 bolt flywheel with the
shaft on the flywheel.

Post 09 has the 1M style input shaft.

How bad was your clutch slip?

I'm guesstimating that I'm putting out similiar power levels to you and whilst I've only just installed some grippy 275/30 NT05's havent experienced any clutch slip yet. Admittedly I havent done any hard launches or drag racing but WOT 1st 2nd gear from a roll on is no issues it holds power OK (I've also done 80k kays)

Mine was terrible and I didn't make it to the track before it started slipping, but the clutch looks intact no abnormal wear, just pressure plate could not hold.

It would slip when it got hot, after extended periods of driving.

Here are some pics of the difference between early 135 box and a diagram on the 1M/n55 box

Under no load condition that's why its chattering (speculating on this)

So I managed to get 3 runs at the track last night, getting the launch right is near impossible with this clutch, but the rest was awesome. Gear shift where clean and the clutch didn't let up once, with some nitto nt01 its definetly going to be awesome

2.0 is still decent for a manual. Still using the Nitto Invo's?

yeah still nitto invo's

Those sixty's are shit for me, I'm use to doing 1.8's and under

Time to get some new tyres.

Nothing wrong with the invos, just you cant baby this clutch of the line.
Its hard to explain, its either nice easy normal take off or all out race with nothing in between.

Yeh I hear you. When doing my 1000m events it's the same. Slower on initial pull off die to the bite of the clutch but it holds like a beast. Really hard to get a smoothie take off without wheel spin.

I've reverted to inducing some spin and try control it as best possible in first and second. I however only have the Nitto NT01's in 245/40/18"s. Sadly they done make the 01's in 265/35/18 which is what I run as my road wheels with AD08R's which are no good for drags. Sigh, perhaps some R888's in 265/35/18 would be better?

R888 are terrible when cold, but very decent when you have heat in them.

The problem with 1000m events, there are no burnouts or slicks allowed.

I only found one tyre that works great from cold and that is the Nitto NT-01.

Little update.

The clutch is working flawlessly, it does get a little grumpy sometimes and doesn't want to play nicely on take off like 1 out of 50 times.

When the aircon is on it tends to rattle a little bit on idle only but turn it off and its almost silent.

From low revs to high revs its ultra smooth, especially at low revs where the dual mass would be rattly the motiv is silky smooth but load it
up at low revs and the cabin will resonate a fair bit.

Going to try and get a TW_Damper and see if that will help with the rattle
