One thing I love about my car is...

that it's an '08 and still every other day people are asking me, "Is that new??"
Muahahahah. I tell them Yes.

Anyone else in this boat?

Collective IQ of this region is about an 8.

I always get "Cool what BMW did you get?"
Because they can't figure out which one it is......doesn't help that I have it debadged... ;

Uniqueness will go hand in hand with this car in NA I believe

Most people seem to be oblivious to what a 1-Series is: "A 128i? What kinda BMW is that?"

I'm seeing 1 or 2 of them a day now on Long Island. It's kind of heartbreaking
Regardless, I do agree with all of you, but the point I'm making is much different (and so awesome). A 4 year old car that still looks brand new

Kind of curious, what have they changed, cosmetically, since 2008? Besides the tail lights...

Headlights have the white eyebrow and different bumper and side-view mirrors on the 128i....probably the same on the 135i. But don't quote me on that.

Right, forgot about the eyebrows. Different bumper, huh? I hadn't even realized.

Ya bmws r good for looking modern for a long time. Hell my dad had a 94 e36 and I remember a family member in 2000 asking him how many miles it had and when he said over 100k they were shocked. Then he told them how old it was an they were like o I thought it was maybe 2 yrs old. The e36 did run for 8yrs tho. Well the coupe did and 7 for the sedan.
As far as the 1 series still waiting for mine it's on order but I'm sure my fav part of the day will always be starting it. The way they rev just a bit is like music to my ears.

It could also be Staten Island - Similar IQ levels to Boston. So I can understand the confusion.

When I spot them, they're usually the 28. About 75% percent of the time it's a 28. Still, like the uniqueness of the 1er so I don't like spotting other ones lol.

With the sudden emergence of guys on LI I'm surprised I don't get spotted more

The only car I drive is a 1er. I commute in an ActiveE and my weekender is my 135

IMO the "dumbo ears" side mirrors look like shit. They're not sporty at all. Do the new 135i's actually have those? That's ridiculous. Goofy mirrors on what is clearly a sports car. I'm glad mine's an '08

One thing i love about my car is.....the DCT transmission. The sport button really wakes up the throttle response and shift points .
