new video up!
new writeup too.

http://www.autospies.com/news/BMW-13...e-Lap-2-22333/

http://shows.autospies.com/video/bmw-135i-1-lap.wmv

can't find on youtube yet to post.

Here is another look at the BMW 135 Coupe performing on the racetrack, this time with 001 driving. The note of the engine and the exhaust in the video, doesn't do it justice, it is a sweet, smooth sound that grows gradually in volume and throatiness the further along the RPM range you go.

A look into this video will give you a sneak peak at what's about to stun the automotive world, in that you can see how well it performs on the track, and just how fast out of a corner the twin turbo engine propels this lightweight "3-Series", and how the competition (what little there is in this market right now) is going to be left in the dust wondering how they couldn't have been prepared for such a car......

it goes on to give some substance actually.

Its really a awesome sound, I think Im going to leave it stock except for high flow down pipes with better cats. I like it when you hear the engine not the muffler, or lack their of in some cases.

BMW 135i is actually my second most anticipated 08 new car just behind Nissan GTR. I would love to see a bunch on the street.

Glorious sound, no doubt about it, and much sweeter than the Evo X run found here. But viewing both videos back to back it's clear that the Evo does not have the understeer issues of the BMW, even when its ASC is turned off.

Unless I missed them mentioning it, neither of the AutoSpies videos were filed with Traction/Stability off -- that's usually a no-no on the press outings and they explicitly mentioned it was on and wouldn't let them oversteer; though looking at what looks like fresh skidmarks on the track around Turn 4, someone was certainly having some fun.

Either way, it's no surprise that the BMW would be tuned for less oversteer out of the box than the EVO. Nothing a couple very minor mods wouldn't fix if it was bothersome.

What I love about the 135i is it's flexibility. I comfortable rocket on the highway, and a beast on the track. I think the Evo X is a great car, and should be successful, but that's not my first choice if I want sit back and just ride down the highway.

For me it isn't about how a car runs around the track.

1er FTW!

+1 Boost
We actually ripped off a 4.8 0-60 and a 4.9 0-60, but it was a downhill straightaway, not with a lot of grade, but enough not to include the time in our articles yet. The air temperature was perfect, low 50's, tire grip was there for a hardish launch, but more than 4000RPM and we got too much wheelspin.

I think with stickier tires and power shifting 1-2 and you could be 4.6-4.7.
