Production Time vs Delivery Time

For those that have ordered your 1 series, how long after your production week did it take to actually arrive at your dealer? I'm guessing 4-5 weeks.
Thanks

Just really depends on where you are located and luck of the draw. I ordered my car November 15th ish and took delivery on December 23rd. Others ordered around the sametime and didn't get their cars till Feb.

that is why i'm asking those that know when their production actually took place, not when they ordered it but when it was made.

Mine took about 7 weeks from production to pick up at the dealership. But I'm on the US west coast. Ships to the east coast are considerably faster (shorter distance, no canal, fewer pirates and sea monsters, ...).

At the time I bought my car (2009) it was easy to track ships heading to the east coast, but hard to track those heading to the west coast. There's a couple of threads on it.

There's also a bit of variability between when your car makes it to the port in Europe and when the ship actually gets underway.

My production was complete by November 26th...do know that..it just depends on how long your car sits at port. That's a luck of the draw as it depends on how many cars are in line for the next boat. You may have to wait a boat or 2 to get to your destination. Once on the boat the arrival time to port is generally documented well and as long as there aren't any major storms vessels arrive on time. NOw how long it sits in customs is again a crap shoot.

10 days from order to production and 36 days from production to delivery. Of course, this was 3 years ago...

2009. I ordered near the end of May.
Car was built 6/2/09.
Came into US port 6/24/09.
Arrived at dealer on 7/2 and was ready, but, I picked it up from my dealer the next day 7/3/2009.

Car came into South Carolina port. My dealer is in Northwest Indiana, about 35 miles south of Chicago.
If your closer to the port you may get it a day or two sooner, maybe.

I did a search of my "waiting" posts to recall the dates.

Waiting for a ship can speed up or slow down when you get it.
A car might be built a few days before another one, but it may have to wait until it can get on a ship.
So, a car build a good number of days after yours may get on the same ship as yours.
