Tokyo Auto Show Pics
I just got back from the Tokyo Auto Show and got to see the 135 & Tii concept car in person. WOW! I was blown away at how awesome the Tii looks in person. The plain jane 135i w/M body kit looks boring in comparison. That just made my decision... wait for the Tii.

Thanks for the pics!
Just noticed this on WCF about Essen Motor Show: "Joining the M3 will be a conceptual homage to the BMW 2002 tii of the 1970s, with AC Schnitzer applying their own interpretation of the 70s legend onto BMW's new 1-Series. Expect the re-working to show similarities with Frankfurt's BMW 1-Series Coupe tii concept, with a decidedly AC Schnitzer twist." |

The Alfa 8C is gorgeous- what a head turner....neo-retro without being slavish to the past, & careful attention to detail and proportion.
Design-wise the 8C is just the kind of look that stops me in my tracks. Love the interpretation of the classic Alfa snout. Too bad Alfa Romeo has a history of unreliability when they were available in the US. Maybe those issues are resolved now. New N/A launch (I think I heard 2010) means the thing has to run like clockwork or the re-introduction will result be an afficienado-only marque for those who have the time and money for voluptuos Italian garage queens. |

This is why all 500 8Cs that will be made in 2008-'09 were sold long before anyone so much as sat in one, even at a price of about $226,000. The 8C will also reintroduce Alfa Romeo to the United States. About 99 cars of the production allotment will cross the pond, and then 500 8C Spiders will be built and a batch will also come to America.

I don't know where you recall that from, but the concept car with the turbocharged 4.2L engine was rated at 3300lbs, or 350lbs lighter than the new E92 M3. Now it's been confirmed that the production car will have a naturally aspirated engine, an all carbon-fiber body shell, all aluminum suspension/subframe and carbon seats. It will also have the gearbox right in front of the rear axle, so should be a pretty well-balanced lightweight car.

I want the STI in my garage as well and perhaps the lady friend next to it. Her trunk looks a bit small for my luggage
