Not at this stage mate, I only drove the 1M 1,600 kms in 12 months before I sold.
M4 have started to drop already.. Food for thought.. http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/de...18434043/?Cr=4 |

since this is an N55 motor I wonder how many of my performance parts from my 135i will fit it.. DPs? JB4? Meth and charge pipe?

I'd say not many, meth yes that's prob it. F series n55 parts would be more likely to fit over e series n55 parts

oh yes you are right. If the prices expected to be $110-$120k rrp. A M4 at $136k would be a wise option/ almost a no brainier. Just depends what floats your boat(big boat/small boat) I guess. Both cars have such a modern interior. |

Yeah its a shame about the carbon roof, but when you look at its competitors none of them have carbon lids (which would make it even more appealing but of course $ would be the main reason and to make the high end ///M models more appealing and to justify their premium prices!) More colour options would be nice also (white black grey and blue isn't much of a selection to choose from - perhaps they may offer the individual program for the M2?) |

Just a question is the M2 going to be limited production too?

I think it's just normal production as per M4.
I'm somewhat worried though. If this comes out at $120K, and the guy next to me has Merc A45 or AudiRS3 with same performance for $40K less, i think I might feel like an idiot. |

Agreed. I like the M2 but I'm not really sure what is making it worth considerably more than say an A45.. I don't think MT and RWD is enough.

You're also getting a dry sump transmission, upgraded baffling and pumping in the oil sump, a less complicated inter cooling system, flared bodywork and a less elegant engine bay strut brace. What you're not getting is twin turbo, the CF roof and the CF drive-shaft. That sounds like a smaller M4 to me. |

S55 CF roof CF drive shaft mirrors - who cares CF strut brace - meh Adjustable dampers - huge 2 x M buttons - huge M4 seats - pretty huge omission not sure about this but will it have 3 steering settings, 3 throttle maps, leather dash, head up display, lane assist, side front and reverse cameras, and I don't know there is probably a shit load more I know they are following the 1M formula but M3's are getting much closer on price |

I am on the fence on this one, the new M3/4 and M2 look the part on the inside
but i am still a E92 M3 & 1M fan boy. Driven lots of M4 yep go OK but missing the fantastic V8 and the awsome sound track. Now if the M2 was AWD count me in. |

Anyone else find the M3/M4 horribly stiff for everyday use? Seems every suspension setting is a different version of stupidly firm and crashy.
Even though firm, my 1M is compliant and superbly damped. |

I test drove an M4 on the weekend and found it pretty decently damped on the roads I drove it on, though nothing was particularly pockmarked or anything.
Having said that, I found the 1M nicer. I know there's been complaints of a lack of travel in the 1M, but I find it really keyed down unless hitting constant, really rough patches. I think it's about perfect for road and occassional track use. |
