I check multiple things when cycling:

the front wheels: they tell you more than the blinkers
got hit a few times though

And NEVER try to take over a truck or bus on the right - or remain next to it for a few moments - when approaching a side-street on the right hand side. You stand virtually no chance against those big wheels if the driver turns into that side-street. I keep behind of these and check what happens. Those few seconds are worth my safety.

Same for taxi-drivers on the brink of (aggressively) disregarding your priority: let them get away with it - sure, the taxi-driver's insurance has to pay for your damage, but it ain't worth the hassle of discussions and repairs. Again, those few seconds are worth it to avoid an uncomfortable situation and regrets. Better safe than sorry.

And then those stepping out of a car without checking their side mirror. One of my accidents happened that way: young dude swayed his door open and I can still hear him say "Salut et à demain!". A fraction of a second later I "deformed" that car door a little bit. Lucky for him his leg was avoided or he could have been required to pay a visit to the doctor or hospital.

This ain't no Walt Disney world.

Hey there fellow Belgians, and everybody else off course, is there anybody interested in joining us at SPA-Francorchamps ?
on the 12 or 13 or 14 november (date not settled yet) and have the racetrack to ourselves. By us I mean members from 1addicts and other forums
related to BMW cars. The plan is to rent the track on our own and we need at least 40 enthousiasts and a max. of 70/80 drivers.
To give you an idea how deep you'll have to dig into your wallet:
At 40 cars: 415 euro's per person/car
At 70 cars: 235 euro's per person/car

For that amount you get: the most beautyfull racetrack in the world with open pitlane, so you drive for as long as you want / or can
The use of a tow truck ....if needed (on track)
18 track officials to keep all safe

Interested? just let me know here or pm or on the Spa-Francorchamps PDD 2012 tread

Looks good with those rims and what strikes me the most is how clean your car is.

That's a clean BSM! The hardest colour of the three to hide dirt. Way to go!

To obtain the summer tires stance Advevo recommended 20mm spacers in the rear only for the 270 M winter wheels (original BMW set-up):
"Mount 20mm spacers rear you have same wide as original. Front are 2mm wider then original.
They had to use one ET value because otherwise they had develop 2 different size wheels.
I think they are perfect for winter. I have 20mm spacers only at the rear and now the fitment is perfect."

For the set-up on my VO (due to be fitted once the ordered rims have arrived late February ...when winter is almost over, though):

2 more from my BMW center to come in 2012, a VO & a AW that will be covered in matte white (excited to see that) !!
I think that another customer will get an AW too from another center.....
So it seems that you're right, more than 40 for us !

My wife spotted a BSM 1M in Geel last Friday with Z-plates, which were fixed on it with magnets (!!!) and with stickers of my dealership (Sneyers, Herentals) on it. (Yes, I'm sure she knows the difference by the time... )

My sales-representative was speaking about a 1M demo car the dealership had ordered, but was speaking about a VO one at the time (Aug. '11).
So it could be a new 1M owner, who just couldn't stand the waiting anymore !?

the wintertires on 18" seem to be missing grip (on the dry),
the traction control light appears much more
compared to the 19" with the original michelin PS2

I ordered new summertires, Michelin Supersports
which seem to be "allowed" by BMW

Yes I've seen it also. But who's willing to buy them? We know why most of them wanna get rid off the cars. Sure everything can be sold, but at those prices?
Don't forget that some are leased and unless there willing to drop their asking price I don't see many buyers (privatly owned) showing up. jm2c

I know it's a real mess those new laws and I feel sorry for those left with no other choice than to sell

Dreadful situation indeed: some are locked in by the unexpected new tax legislation re company cars (too expensive to keep the car, no sufficient/immediate funds to privately purchase the company car and no potential buyers willing to take over an expensive leasing contract).

Like the VO our fellow country man Dragon tries to sell (leasing):
"En al kandidaten voor de 1M?
Tja, af en toe tot ze de prijs van het contract horen "

("So, any candidates for your 1M?
Well yeah, from time to time, until they hear the price of the contract "
)
http://www.bimmerboard.be/forum/inde...opic=28318.405

The new tax legislation is hitting hard. Hard words fly through the room on the Belgian Bimmerboard. Some rumored having heard that 80% of the Porsche Belgium orders were cancelled (potential buyers prefer leaving their advance payment, than to take delivery):
http://www.bimmerboard.be/forum/inde...seen#msg834880
http://www.bimmerboard.be/forum/inde...seen#msg842956

Dunno about that figure, but I can imagine that there will be quite some cancellations for expensive company cars. Christian Lambert (sales director of BMW Belux) estimated earlier this month that the new tax legislation will result into 100 million EUR of missed VAT revenue for the State (so-called boomerang effect).
http://www.tijd.be/nieuws/archief/Au...6588-1615.art?

Maybe some will fight the new tax legislation before the Constitutional Court because of the short timing: the legislation came out of the blue late December, got immediately voted and took force from 1 January 2012, without transitional period or so-called grandfather clause (i.e. a legal provision due to which an old rule continues to apply to some existing situations, while a new rule will apply to all future situations). Taking everyone by surprise in a short period of time, without any possibility to adapt: compliant with the principle of legal security and reasonable expectations ("rechtszekerheidsbeginsel" and "vertrouwensbeginsel")?

Anyway, I'm playing for keeps (my 1M ain't no company car).

Updated the entries, and got some additional info re allocation:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=232

Hard to believe a small country like Belgium and/or Luxemburg would get almost 30% (214 1Ms) of the US allocation (740 1Ms). Initial allocation was 41 1Ms (less than 20% of 214 1Ms) out of 2700 1Ms worldwide !

Wondering how significantly the 1M production in the BMW Leipzig plant has been increased since past Summer. Earlier info indicated "production changes" in June 2011 (www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=544798). Probably to achieve a substantial production increase ? What's the final target output: 4000 1Ms instead of 2700 1Ms ? Are the French "x/100" stickers and English "ONE of 450" plaques still accurate ?

I guess we'll only know the precise figures once the last 1M will have been manufactured.

Akra's got a really sick sound and the valve switch system is cool for the in-town sound but the price is really hard compare to Eisenmann or similar....
Yeah I like chrome, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I like the mix chrome/black.
We will need a short vid to hear the sound
