iCarbon Vented M3 Style CF Hood
I will post pictures tomorrow, but have a question. Does anyone think that the open vents will be an issue with rain? I'm thinking that the engine bay is hot enough that any water would probably evaporate too fast to cause a problem. What do you guys think?

Depends on which one it is. The one with the smaller vents or the one with the larger vents farther down on the hood. The larger vents, prob wont matter if they are open during rain cuz there is nothing under that area that would cause damage. Now the one with the smaller vents, if you have a DCI open intake like me that could def cause issues cuz that vent lies right over the intake area.

Isnt that hood interchangeable?? Or least one closed one open? I was asking ICarbon bout this way back when they were still alive and I think I remember them saying they sold or made closed AND open inserts for that hood. Like tight pop in/out thick plastic vents, the honeycomb ones, so if its raining you can switch em to closed, etc. Who knows..

I have the one with the smaller vents further back. They are both open. I don't have a DCI, because I have the N55. Just a single Injen intake, which actually snakes its way further toward the front of the car, so I don't think it will be an issue.

Word sir, and im sure it looks killer! I would be interested in going with that hood too if I didnt have to figure out wtf to do with my gigantic heavy ass stock hood afterwards, I dont exactly have shitloads of space to spare for large stock parts like that.

Looks great! Your car is very nicely done. And those vents definitely won't be an issue in terms of moisture getting into the engine bay. Sweet ride overall!

So after install did you come to the conclusion a DCI wouldn't work? Now I want to get this hood but I already have the DCI.

Can't tell you that, I bought it used. When iCarbon was still in business and it was still for sale I think it retailed for $1800-1900. However, I don't think anyone sells this style hood anymore. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Lol true, but I imagine it would be worse with water being dumped in them.
