Talking 6MT throttle delay fix... finally.

I'm surprised it took 3 years for anyone to fix this, but we got the Throttle Delay Fix working perfectly today. Unreal. Datalogs to follow once I get to the office. In field beta testing starts today. Already have them picked out so please no email requests this time around

Since this is a CANbus feature, this is a Rev.2 feature only.

Throttle Delay Fix OFF:

Throttle Delay Fix ON:

Analysis:
What you want to do is compare the 3rd and 4th graph in each datalogs. The 3rd graph is called "Throttle" and it represents the motion of the throttle pedal (my foot). There are two shifts in each datalog. All of my shifts (from throttle LIFT to back too full throttle) take 0.3-0.33 seconds which is pretty quick. You will notice that in all cases, I'm lifting FULLY off the throttle. No power-shifting.

The 4th graph in each datalog is called "CAN DBW(drive by wire) Throttle" and represents the actual throttle position dictated by the DME. Since our cars do not have cable linkages that connect the gas pedal to the throttle butterfly, applied throttle (by your foot) and actual throttle don't always match up. In the case of max acceleration shifting, this becomes especially noticeable. Read on...

Here's a little chart showing applied and actual shift speeds (time away from full throttle) with the Throttle delay fix OFF:

FIX OFF____________ APPLIED____ACTUAL
1st to 2nd gear shift__0.34s______1.83s
2nd to 3rd gear shift__0.31s______1.71s
TOTAL TIME_________0.65s______3.54s

So during that brief 2nd to 4rd gear sprint, the total actual time away from full throttle (WOT) was a 3.54 seconds, nearly 3 seconds longer than what my right foot was telling it to do And yes, this delay is evident with every tune (flash or piggyback) that is out there right now. This can be verified by logging/comparing Actual and Applied throttle opening with a BT Tool.

And now with our Throttle Delay fix ON:

FIX ON_____________ APPLIED____ACTUAL
1st to 2nd gear shift__0.36s______0.45s
2nd to 3rd gear shift__0.38s______0.38s
TOTAL TIME_________0.74s______0.83s

Conclusion:
With the PROcede's Throttle Delay Fix ON, the actual throttle stays at WOT for 2.71 seconds longer than with it off. More importantly, it follows your foot action almost exactly ensuring that you get power when you want power. Not a full second later. Does this mean that ETs will drop by 2.71s all other things equal. Of course not. Because that would assume (among other things) that the throttle was completely closed when it wasn't fully open. But do we expect to see measurable drops in 6MT 1/4 mile ETs? Absolutely.

Those days of 6ATs being quicker (in a straight line) than a well driven 6MTs have come to a decisive end.

I doubt it. With our set-up, boost stays above 10psi even during the shift when the clutch is depressed. Pretty crazy....

120.x trap speeds (from last night-- 75F with 75%)
On 100oct....

Shiv,
Question: During the shifting, the trottle will be closed, and with 10psi, won't the pressure get released thru the diverter valves?
