128i Makeover

Hey everyone,

Going back to school to get an MBA, so I got a 128i from a family member (100% stock), and I just - almost - completed a makeover to personalize it a bit.

Done:

OEM wheels style 264
Sumitomo HRZ III tires - 225/40/18 Front - 255/35/18 Rear
35% Tints
BMW Performance black high gloss kidney grilles
Trunk lip spoiler (stock one from 135i)
De-badge
Rubber floor mats
New side marker lights to replaced yellowed ones

To Do:

Replace steering wheel trim piece - peeling next to the buttons
Replace HORRIBLE wood interior trim with black high gloss

Below you will see the before and after pics!

Let me know what you think

Great looking car! I wish I had some stock photos of my car before I started modding to see the progress.

Yah new interior trim please!

It looks sharp.

I want your interior trim, if you decide to sell it. I'm going in reverse: you're going sleek and modern. I'm going stodgy and fussy. Wood trim would be great for that. (I'm serious. I'm old.)

And if you find you have to replace the ashtray assembly with a storage bin, I'd be interested in that whole assembly including the wiring for the lighter, etc.

Looks great. Amazing how much a difference adding the wheels from a 135 makes plus the black grill. That's why I bought M261s for my 128 M Sport. Your car went from cool to BAD!

Thanks for all the nice words guys

I also wish that I could delete those horrible amber corners on the headlights but I don't like any of the options available

What interior do you currently have? Gloss black by any chance?

I also want to replace the ashtray with the storage bin so that works great as well. PM me if you are interested.

Yeah, I have gloss black, with the storage tray. But the wife would kill me if I ship it off without a replacement in the house! (Actually, she'll probably have a cow just seeing me pry the old one off....)

Yes they are. Just plug and play.

Not even close to rubbing with the tire sizes I installed.
