DME Update B12 22 10

Has anyone else received this update yet? So far I've noticed that the annoying lag with the DCT is gone and that the downshifts are a little more subdued, which is nice, because they were a little too aggressive before. Anyone else have any other findings with the new update? Overall the transmission feels just as aggressive when accelerating.

when did the update come out?
and how did you get the update? (did you ask dealer to just update it or did your car have campaign)

I took it in for a routine oil change, and asked if there were any new DME updates. They probably would have done it anyways. I also noticed that it is less "jerky" when stopping at a light, and acceleration is smoother, potentially more linear. I love it!!!

Yep, I saw that too.. that kind of threw me off, but I just figured it was a newer update.. this confirms that. Thanks! How do you like it so far? With the JB4 Stage 2 it is so sick.

Does your car still have the TPMS icon that points to a low tire? Maybe you can let 10psi out of one of the tires and report back.

It was true for me and some others here. I had my SW updated last March, and it felt like my car lost some Hp. But my biggest gripe was how the throttle response became very laggy. In order to get the same push as before with 1/4 throttle you needed to press down a little more than 1/2 or 3/5th throttle - for the same sort of urge/grunt from the engine. I hated it so much I ended up getting a falsh tune. Others have gotten the PPK v1.0 to fix this. Maybe BMW has gotten their updates right now. But I know I would not want to be the giuni-pig.

Always put it to map 0 and clear codes before handing over to SA. For a standard service I wouldn't bother, if I was having some issues relating to the engine/drive then, yes, definitely would remove it.
Thanks for that mate. I just hit 31k and going in for oil change and routine service.

Was scared to Leave it in. But i think I'm being too cautious

I would take it out. Sure it will take you some time but it could save you a huge headache. A little time to insure against a nasty consequence.

There have been a few N55 owners that don't like the new SW update too. But yes, for the most part N55's owners seem to like the update. I think thats bc they run a piggy and don't have to drive on BMW SW. I still would be weary of any SW update.

Anyone who is thinking of having a SW update should read this... the update effects BOTH N55's and N54's.
