I need to update, this is an issue with my 11' DCT... Incredibly frustrating while sitting in LA traffic. Keep the "post update" impressions coming

Always bring in the car on Map 0 if you're willing to take the chance with a JB4 installed to begin with. I have a straight tune rather than a box, but it makes me nervous just considering that the dealer may look for a JB4 after seeing a boost over target code stored in the ECU.

Based on cheshirecat79's new info, I told the dealer there appears to be an update to the SIB out there, and I want it installed because I don't think my issue is completely resolved. Has anyone else who got the original SIB S/W installed gone back for a second taste of this thing? If I read this correctly, they must have done something else for another S/W release, right? My appt is on 19 June, we'll see what happens.
So I did get the "re-updated" SW version for SIB 12 09 12 yesterday. Thanks to cheshirecat79's link, I was able to show them exactly what I wanted updated, and prove that an update did indeed exist. I had no confidence that they would a) have known about the update or b) fess up to it and actually re-install it. However, the SA took the paperwork, attached it to the workorder, and they reprogrammed accordingly.

Anyway, it appears to be working so far. The revs at idle are now consistently 700 rpm. I was having problems coming to a stop where it would rise and fall (usually just one cycle per stop) between 700 and 1000, but now it drops and stays dropped. I tried with and w/o A/C on, no change noticed. I stopped after normal acceleration/driving, and then after aggressive acceleration and quick stops. No problems noticed. It may be my imagination, but some of the exhaust burble that left when they did the first SW update seems to have come back a little bit. I haven't driven enough to know if there seems to be any improvement or degradation to the performance yet. The initial SW update did fix my severe throttle response problems, but the idle issue remained. Fingers are crossed that they finally fixed it....

That's awesome to hear. I hope it works out.

Kind of retarded that you have to give them the service paperwork for them to do their job, but you can't argue with the result.

Ok, so I talked to my dealer, and apparently, there is no such update for my Canadian 2012 135i in Canada, they say US cars are different. Anyone in Canada has any idea where to solve this problem?

Gents, good news. Have been driving the new software hard for about a week now. No more stalling and idle dips. Absolutely fixed.

Additionally, it also fixed a throttle blip that occured when coasting to a stop with car in gear, but foot on the brake. This was probably only an issue on 6MT.

Finally, shift detection is improved during shift on 6MT. Holds boost better now.

I used to have this problem and it went away, either because of software update at my dealer or because I stopped using PetroCanada 94, and went for Shell V-Power 91. I noticed the latter change made my engine less rough on cold starts, and I also get better fuel economy.

Maybe the guys stalling could try a different gas provider and see if that helps. I hear all the time that the N55 is very picky on cold starts.

I just got my car back from the dealer, they told me there was nothing wrong with the car, so I showed them the electrical system update sheet. They will take a look and call me back. Meanwhile, I guess I will try a different gas station then. Thank you.

Do you know the code?

I have this issue and the dealer said they can't do any software update because they can't find the problem.

Are you in Vancouver? If so, who did you talk to?

Thanks

Do you know if this is an actual DME update meaning that they change the ROM, I have the same issue with my 2011 135i DCT but not often so I have neglected to take it back to the dealer after once them telling me there was nothing wrong with the car with the issue emerged the first time, now I bought a COBB Tuning AP for the N55 and lucky me the ROM on my car is the one they do not support so I need the DME updated, dropped off the car yesterday at the dealer with the excuse again about the stalling and requested the DME to be updated, hopefully they do, if not I will use this pdf and go back and dicuss with them (nicely).

I do not believe this is considered a DME update. This seems to be an update for the transmission control unit.

BMW may plug the car in to their programmer and have it come back with no updates required (other than the DME you're referencing). This update is not released as a mandatory software update- it's something they will have to look up manually and apply to the vehicle.
