I need to update, this is an issue with my 11' DCT... Incredibly frustrating while sitting in LA traffic. Keep the "post update" impressions coming

Hmm, maybe I need to consult a local dealer for an update...
I hope the JB4 doesn't freak out zee Germanz.

Always bring in the car on Map 0 if you're willing to take the chance with a JB4 installed to begin with. I have a straight tune rather than a box, but it makes me nervous just considering that the dealer may look for a JB4 after seeing a boost over target code stored in the ECU.

Anyway, it appears to be working so far. The revs at idle are now consistently 700 rpm. I was having problems coming to a stop where it would rise and fall (usually just one cycle per stop) between 700 and 1000, but now it drops and stays dropped. I tried with and w/o A/C on, no change noticed. I stopped after normal acceleration/driving, and then after aggressive acceleration and quick stops. No problems noticed. It may be my imagination, but some of the exhaust burble that left when they did the first SW update seems to have come back a little bit. I haven't driven enough to know if there seems to be any improvement or degradation to the performance yet. The initial SW update did fix my severe throttle response problems, but the idle issue remained. Fingers are crossed that they finally fixed it.... |

That's awesome to hear. I hope it works out.
Kind of retarded that you have to give them the service paperwork for them to do their job, but you can't argue with the result. |

Ok, so I talked to my dealer, and apparently, there is no such update for my Canadian 2012 135i in Canada, they say US cars are different. Anyone in Canada has any idea where to solve this problem?

Gents, good news. Have been driving the new software hard for about a week now. No more stalling and idle dips. Absolutely fixed.
Additionally, it also fixed a throttle blip that occured when coasting to a stop with car in gear, but foot on the brake. This was probably only an issue on 6MT. Finally, shift detection is improved during shift on 6MT. Holds boost better now. |

Maybe the guys stalling could try a different gas provider and see if that helps. I hear all the time that the N55 is very picky on cold starts. |

Do you know the code?
I have this issue and the dealer said they can't do any software update because they can't find the problem. Are you in Vancouver? If so, who did you talk to? Thanks |

BMW may plug the car in to their programmer and have it come back with no updates required (other than the DME you're referencing). This update is not released as a mandatory software update- it's something they will have to look up manually and apply to the vehicle. |
