E85 Question

Hey everyone,
Some background: I was running e85 mixes on my n54 with the JB4 Back-end Flash and a LPFP upgrade for a few months and recently switched to the 93 back end flash since I kept running into a maxed out HPFP while running high concentrations and for a bit of simplicity (Just pump 93 and go)
The other day I found the Shotgun Single Barrel kit from VTTO and I was wondering if I could run 100% E85 with this setup and the Backend Flash or If I would be better off using the Flex-Fuel kit from vishnu/FFTEC

Are you running the Stage 2 LPFP? If not you need to.

Yup that's a HPFP limitation. the upgraded VTT pump would help.

There's also a new product from Fuel-It you should check out. I'd probably start here rather than the HPFP.

I don't have any first hand experience with the product but if it were my car, based on what I've read about it, this would be my choice

The FuelIT solution looks fine too but it limits you to around the 500 whp range.

EDIT: Updated some info from my original post

The LPFP is a stage 2 so it mainly been the HPFP thats been giving me issue. The Fuel-it option falls neatly into the range I want actually! ill be sure to e-mail them and if i go that route keep a thread with info and logs
Thanks for the responses guy!

Fuel it stage 2 is a must have upgrade for E85 options. That being said you wont be able to run 100% e85 without the HPFP upgrade.
There are no gains for running 100% e85 on stock turbo.

Mike, the OP has an N54, but on a similar note and in response to your comments, is there a known threshold for when E85 is no longer worth using?

I know he has an N54.
E70 is the max i would go. That being said i have a stage 2 fuel-it and my map is E60.
If you go with E70 you will be putting too much pressure on the stock HPFP.

Right 70% is usually the most but I was hopeful that with some HPFP work i could squeeze out a little more from it
Thanks for the input Mike and with the e60 how are your numbers?

TQ?
have a dyno you wish to post Mike? (I searched very quickly and didn't see one posted)

And I just want to mention that here in MN pump E85 by law has to be at least 70%. So a tune for 70% would be perfect. If it happens to be a higher content, no harm no foul.
I assume most are using pump Ethanol to mix and not fuel out of a barrel.
In MN, the quality and percentages are pretty consistent from what I've seen over the last 8 years of using it. Summer fuel averages 82% and Winter blends drop to the lower limit of 70%.

When we say E60 that does not mean we have access to E60 straight from the fuel pump.
In las vegas it is similar to MN, E85 in the summer and around E75 in the winter. I just mix 6.8 E85 with 3.2 91 to get my E60.
The ECU will automatically take care of any variation in the E85 content.

Dont have any dynos for this setup that i am using at the moment.

Solid numbers and again thanks for your input! Im currently trying to squeeze some more power out of the stock turbos since i can't really justify turbo upgrades to my daily driver that i don't even track or do any serious racing. I ran meth on my last car, not to derail my own thread or anything but what do you think about Meth vs. an E85 mix or perhaps using both? From the little research I've done the numbers for using both e85 and meth are pretty impressive

You will get good gains using meth for sure. You need to keep in mind that meth is not a mod that you install and forget. You will need to keep an eye on it all the time to make sure everything is going alright.
