*POLL* What do you N55 guys want?

Hello N55 community!

I have been noticing a lot of similar things being made from aftermarket tuning companies for both the N54 and N55. Me, personally owning an E82 with an N55, i am wanting to create new ideas for the N55. So i designed this poll to see what YOU guys want. OTF tunes that are specific to you're mods? Bolt-on turbo kits + intercoolers, a real "cold air" intake? Let me know you're thoughts!

I voted true CAI w/heatshield. I think for me I personally would love to get rid of all the stock plastic, for weight purposes not aesthetics. So if there were an option that was lightweight and more effective at lowering air temps entering the intake system id be a very happy camper.

There are turbo upgrades available now. Cobb does a decent job with OTS maps and custom ones are fairly inexpensive. carbon fiber maybe as id love to see a plug ans play side skirt option, but big bucks for just show and no go mean a limited market...

Definitely a full intake. I don't mean something that just replaces the air box and some tubing. I mean something that replaces all tubing from the turbo to filter, turbo to intercooler, and relocates filter. The stupid MAF sensor has prevented this from being done thus far. Sucks.

Cobb works best in conjunction with BMS JB4, or a true pro tune so I don't think it would help much to get mod specific maps from Cobb.

Stock frame turbo kits are out. Pure Stage 2 is making monster power. It sure would be nice to see a big single on an N55 though. 6466 or something. Top or bottom mount.

There are a million intercooler options already.

Some carbon fiber stuff would be cool. That selection is pretty limited right now for the E82.

Been tracking my car for third summer, with absolutely no limp modes ...

Agreed that there way too many FMIC's, CP's, and DP's out there already. Market is saturated as far as Im concerned, which is good for the consumer.

Cobb and PTF (Pro Tuning Freaks) does an excellent jobs at very affordable custom e-tunes at a fixed price for any ongoing bolt-on mods on the N55, but Cobb support is for MY 2011 or less.

Happy I have an N55 based 2011 BMW 135i, with custom PTF tune for the 94-Octane fuel I use and bolt-ons I have.

May be interested in N55 custom turbo if mine ever gives up.

May be interested in quad exhaust tips diffuser, front lips that dont look too tacky.

Always wanted a reasonably priced carbon fiber cold air intake like Dinan sells for the n54/1M.

i voted for a CAI. I like the injen intake, but the replacement scoop is they provide is a step backward IMO because you loose the airflow of one of the scoops! I will probably modify the stock plastic piece to continue to utilize the dual factory scoops. But another solid option would be nice.

Also voted for carbon pieces. to me, we are lacking a rear diffuser that is similar to the bmw performance or icarbon, but without the Mesh. i think the mesh looks out of place and basically you see through the mesh to the primer portion of the rear of the car. something kind of like this one from Mars performance, http://www.marsperformance.com.au/Re...-Single-Outlet, but it would be cool to have it look like the bmw performance diffuser or three fin diffueser, without the mesh.

The whole idea of the mesh is to allow the high pressure to escape better from under the car. It should help alleviate lift at high speed somewhat.

Commenting on this as I think its a great idea. What might be interesting is if you made a 3 fin diffuser with bigger fins, accentuated areas around where the cutouts (mesh) usually are to draw attention to the curves, and then actually cut out the fins slightly as well. Would make the diffuser more functional. A lip accentuating the exhaust cutout would be good too.

Thinking something for the 135i in spirit of what RevoZsport made for the 1M. NOT 1M style, distinctly 135i, just in spirit of.

a relocated air filter F2X style location with better piping and shielding for the E82!!
why did they have to put most of the piping right on top of the engine!

Some way to reduce weight up front. Its easy to loose weight in the rear not so the fronts. Bolt on (diy friendly) moon roof delete cf panel, easy 50lb savings. No one else make the panel.

It would be cool to have side skirt extensions made for the 135i!

Based on the options above I'll go with true cold air intake.

Next suggestions:
1. Break cooling duct
2. Light weight bolt ons including roof panel (as mentioned above).

1+ for sunroof delete I have been searching for a solution please make it! The R&D would be super easy and the mold would be very simple. I'd even invest in the mold if someone would be willing to do the engineering.

YES. A MILLION TIMES YES.

One of the things I hate about the car is the goddamn sunroof.

1. ODB flash tune for 2012+ ECU's (Like Cobb)
2. An intake that increases the volume of air and the diameter of all intake piping straight to the a stock/pure inlet pipe.

You guys do realize that a sunroof delete would require switching the entire headliner as well...

Yup, in no way a simple bolt on mod.

Think you have to take the rear window out (gotta get a new one, gaskets aren't salvageable and not sold separately) to change the panel too.

Serious money.

Revosport already do a carbon roof. You will need liner and a new rear window as BMW don't sell the window seal separately.
