Yes, I've received numerous emails (I think 3 so far) from a company BMW goes through to send out survey's. Asking why you chose BMW, why you like and disliked about the dealership....etc...So you'll get an intial survey, some other one I can't remember and then another one after you've owned the car for 6 months or something like that.

A survey even from a great car company helps the car company and takes your time without recompense. In this case of course, you are under pressure from the dealership to give it and the salesperson top marks. I recommend that you seek to get something for your time. I charge $75 an hour paid in advance. Saves a lot of trouble.

once the dealer rdr's the vehicle you should receive a survey within 7 days from BMW. this year they have however changed the way they grade the dealer especially on a few of the questions. if theres any issues prior to you taking the survey contact your sales advisor and let them know you have an issue and will wait until its resloved before filling out the survey.

One of my concerns is the dealer specifically said I'm not getting floor mats. Yes I'm spending nearly $50k and they went out of their way to write on the PO in big letters "No Mats". On another thread everyone who responded said they got mats.
When my car arrives I want to go out of my way to mention to the dealership that excluding the mats put me in a foul mood and my grades on the survey will reflect that fact. I'm hoping that encourages them to change their minds. |

talk to your sales advisor and let them know your thoughts prior to delivery. one thing over the past 3 years that drives me nuts as a bmw sales manager is the fact that they only include floor mats in the x5 and 7 series. i spend thousands of dollars a year on mats. its not the dealer tho its BMW the does not include mats....

New for ALL 2012 models in the US. Floor Mats are standard. If you have a 1 series on order it will have mats from BMW. If your dealer is trying to charge you for them, then that is your dealer being an ass and trying to make money. Call some other dealerships to confirm, but my salesman was so happy that it was standard on 2012's that he told me about it one day last year in a random talk. When I ordered my car a couple weeks ago he mentioned it again.

I will call my salesman on Monday and see if there is any kind of confirmation per BMWNA that you can use with your salesman. Maybe your guy missed a memo.

I thought that was so nice at first but if they were truly included anyway and he paraded them out upon delivery to make me feel special I would really feel pretty foolish that everyone around was secretly laughing at me behind their smiles. This forum is making me hate my dealership...

I got free mats with my 2012 128 convertible. The salesman also picked out a snazzy keychain for me and gave that to me for free too. My overall sales experience at Pacific BMW was awesome and I gave them top marks on the survey across the board!

I have a really good relationship with my salesman and dealership in general. I have been a customer there almost 12 years now. My salesman and I are the same age, I used to sell cars, and we enjoy some of the same hobbies, so we have some common background. As a result we have become friends. The fact that I used to sell cars means that I may get a little more behind the scenes info that a regular car buyer may not. It also means that little things like him getting excited over the free mats for 2012 models get told to me while a normal customer would never hear it. We stand around and BS about what is going on in the industry while I am in for an oil change or whatever if he isn't with a client. In the past, the fact that mats aren't free has cost him, and I am sure other salesmen could chime in, sales. While in the industry, as well as my own times as a customer, I can say for sure that there are dishonest and just plain stupid car salesman. It would not surprise me at all to see a dealership or even a salesman who figures his customer won't talk to anyone else try to pass off the mats as a "courtesy" gesture. I could find out Monday that it is a regional thing or something as well. Hopefully I will have good news for you. Edit: Just went back to build your own on BMWUSA and looked at the photos and read all the information closely. I did not see any mention of floor mats on the website, but in the pictures as you build your own car it clearly shows floor mats in the vehicle. Last edited by terrapen73; 02-12-2012 at 06:34 PM..
