Would you get a Route 66 Warranty on this?

82k miles, dealer/indy maintained it's whole life. Turbos replaced and have 2 years of warranty as of August, walnut cleaning done. Stock clutch / brakes (but my guess is warranty doesn't cover wear items such as those).

My CU offers Route 66 and it's prolly in the $1,500 range (waiting for exact quote to come back). A apart of me says to just do it since I want to keep the car for a few years and not deal with any work (and there's plenty of other shit that will/can break... right?). The other part of me says all the big ticket items are done and warrantied for the next two years anyways, and the next major things are going to be wear items that aren't covered anyways.

Anyone have any insight?

Based on your mileage i wouldnt. Its going to be 3 yrs up to 100k whichever is first and will cost right at 2k since bmw is a "premium" vehicle. Not worth it for less than 20k miles in my opinion.

Cool! The Route 66 warranty starts on the purchased date/mileage and covers 48 months and 48k miles.

You better get that in writing. Thats nothing like what they advertise on the web and the policy they send you.

It definitely took me by surprise! I was surprised that Route 66 would offer warranty to 110k+ miles and 4 years from purchase. Given the injectors, VANOS, HPFP, and wastegate issues on this car... the probability of those needing repair is fairly high so I am hoping the $2k investment ends up being worthwhile.

Pick up the new toy on Friday.
