Technik330: Quick Intro...
Hey all,
I've, as of more recently, been unable to get the idea of a 1 series out of my head. At first... I couldn't stand the 1 series; they weighed as much, if not more, than my old ZHP and didn't exactly strike me as beautiful. It's funny though; I thought the exact same thing of the '07 MY Subaru STI...I've owned for nearly 3 years now and think it's the most elegant of any of the STIs ever made, which is obviously subjective I'm really hoping to see what the 1M brings, especially if its goal is to embody that of the E30 M3, can't go wrong there.. Anyways here's some photos of my past BMW build and the photos of my current '07 Subaru STi project. I'm aware the kit is aggressive and not to everyone's liking; the car appeared as background car in the 4th Fast & Furious...had to have a kit to make the "cut" lol... '05 BMW 330Ci ZHP w/ Technik Stage 3 S/C (ASA TM-15): '07 Subaru STi - Voltex / ARC / Tomei / Ohlins / AIM / ACPT / etc:

Thank you, I appreciate it- The car isn't done yet, I've got a good amount of parts on the way; I just want to finish the car, shoot it for Import Tuner and be done.

Thank you, I appreciate it! The STi is coming along, the next wave of parts will change the car quite a bit.

Thank you, I'm just trying to be finished with the STi, only 34-3,500 miles on it...rarely goes out- Quote:
That's the supercharger, the ASA style of blower is essentially a belt driven turbo (centri vs. twinscrew). The STi is a bit extreme, only car I've ever built that doesn't use oem aerodynamics, but once completed; the voltex kit is actually quite unique when compared to what's out there. I've lightened the STi, quite a bit, and the gears / powerband on the '07s is superb. I'm hoping it's sitting at about 3,0xx lbs down from 3,2xx factory. Gutted Interior / Carbon Status Shells / CF Driveshaft / Ltw Battery, manifolds, exhaust, down-pipe, etc / Ltw subframe... should help me get close haha

Its funny what you say about the 1 is exactly what i first thought about it when it came out......ugly and over weight.
Now i think it looks great with unique and funky asthetics (although it can look a little awkward from some angles). And you dont see a lot of 1 series coupes where im from, which is a bonus. In regards to its weight, for todays standards, its really not that heavy for a 6 cylinder car when you think about it. The latest sti's and evo's weigh about the same and they're carrying two less cylinders. |

Thank you, there's a lot more in the works though; I just really want to get it completed and re-shot for Import Tuner. Thank you, I appreciate it! Yes, it is time for a 1 series! I'm just trying to keep my self focused on finishing the STi, then it'll be all about the 1 series. Quote:
Yeah the car isn't too bad at all, in terms of weight, my STi came at 3.2k lbs and change, not too bad for awd though. I'm hoping there's at least 2 years of the 1m before they move to the next chassis.

the one thing i really loved about my old subaru is how it would shed weight. it was so noticable every time i'd shed weight that i became addicted to stripping the car down when i had it.
the back seat was only around the 30lb mark, but it made a big difference pulling that weight out of the car. just sharper and snappier. going from AWD traction to a RWD is a big adjustment when it comes to big power. |

If I can get everything done in time; the 1 series will follow that of my old 3 series, subtle and elegant...with some decent numbers Quote:
My old ZHP was making 344rwhp, on average; it wasn't exactly high powered, but still quick enough to make sure you were paying attention. Again, I'm eager to see what the 1M brings and hope that I can catch one in time!

Thanks all for the kind words, I appreciate it!
I just hope I can have the STi finished, shot, and featured before the 1m is sold out This forum has really proven to be quite awesome so far, everyone is quite a bit more mature; when compared to that of Nasioc / E46 Fanatics. Thanks again, -Chris

Thank you, I appreciate that; it's been my most challenging project so far. The rear spoiler is going to set the car off and it's only a couple weeks out....[u2b][/u2b]
