Larger or bolt-on Paddle Shifters.

Is anyone aware of bolt on or easily installed paddle shifters that are larger than the stock shifters. I'd prefer not to take the steering wheel apart and wire them if possible. Carbon fiber or aluminum would be nice.

I have the '13 -/+ shifters.

You might check eBay if you are looking for something that attaches to your existing paddles, but I'm not aware of any paddle extensions for the 128i. I don't think you will find larger paddles that don't require that you remove the steering wheel and disconnect the OEM paddle shifters. I've got M3 paddle shifters on my 2009 135i. It has the steptronic six speed automatic like the automatic 128i does. The M3 paddle shifters are plug and play. You do however have to remove the steering wheel and then swap out the paddles. It is really not that hard to do. The M3 paddles are downshift on the left and upshift on the right, rather than the crazy push/pull up and down of the OEM paddles. And the M3 paddles are a nice aluminum.

Thanks. My 2013 has the "correct" shifters with the left side shifting down and right side up, not the stupid push/pull ones.

I just want larger ones that are easier to reach when you are turning the wheel. It's tough to tell if those M3 shifters are any larger than what I have now.

I've wanted something similar as well. Not paddle replacements but something that would "snap" on persay and extend the height on the paddles.

Search for M3 paddle shifters for sale on e90post. I bought some for my 335i, they are larger and much better than stock.

I would love to see the stock shifter (mine) next to the M3 shifter for comparison.

OK, this is what I have and maybe they are not larger but they are better PM this guy to see if he has anymore.

Here is another source...the bolt-ons are pretty pricey.

I haven't seen the paddles on the later 128s (your car) so I don't know how they compare with the M3 paddles. The M3 paddles are a good size and easy to reach from the steering wheel. I love mine!

I seen several M3 paddle extensions available, but each of the ones I've seen require you to not only remove the paddles, but to take the paddles apart to install the extensions. Personally I think the M3 paddles are the perfect size for the steering wheels on the 1 series.

Those appear to be M3 paddles.

Wonder why they did not do it the right way & put the paddles on the column?
