Possible recall for MY08 1ers
For the benefit of those who might not venture beyond the Aussie section of the forums ...
MY2008 1er and 3er Recall over Faulty Airbag Nothing has been decided yet in terms of a recall to rectify the fault. It is possible that the fault may not apply to Aussie-delivered cars (LHD vs RHD), and no recall notice has occurred here yet. Keep on eye on Product Safety Recalls for any announcements. We would definitely hear from BMW if there was a recall.

That's right Joe. No recall for Australia at the moment. Here is the official announcement from NHTSA:

Flash from BMW factory will change the fuel map???
In most Japanese car (I am sure Mazda is), the car interior function files are seperate from the main fuel map and most flash upgrades from Mazda cannot touch the fuel map... The closest of what Mazda can do to my RX-8 is to add a function to stop fuel (engaging similar to DSC cutting off fuel) when the car is on dyno for too long... Mazda diagnostic machine never changes the fuel map. If it is true for BMW, then they can tune my car too???
