Motion Shots

Sorry these pics are not of a moving 135i. I put the rig on my car and it put a small dent on my roof . It isnt too noticeable, but I felt like dieing!!!!

Here is another teaser shot using the rig. The car is really dirty and it wasnt cleaned because we thought the rig was not going to work. So here is my buddy's bug infested Subaru WRX.

We took some new pictures tonight and I will post them up as soon as I get them I promise. Hopefully, I'll get some courage and have another shot at putting the rig on my car again

I definately cannot take all the credit for the pictures. My friend (WRX owner) is the photographer and does all the photoshop work. I do help with the angles and both of us built the rig. Sometimes Ill take a picture and he will photoshop it; he is much much better at it than me.

Oh and the dent isnt too much of a problem. No one can really notice it, but it sticks out to me. I guess most of us can relate.

I was once told that showing a photographers car rig was like a magician revealing their trick, but I'm not a douche bag. Ill post up some pictures from my point & shoot as soon as I upload them.

Sorry about the 2 posts.

Thats the rig. If you have any questions, ask away. The last shot is ME pushing the car. Very slow shutter speed makes it look like the car is moving fast, but Im only pushing it like 2-3 mph (max).

Here's a link that might answer some of your questions...

Couldn't you create that same effect by taking a still shot and using PhotoShop to do the motion effect?

Yes, but a lot of times it looks artificial. Real shots with less post processing is almost always a + over fake shots with lots of post processing.

You can, but the results usually aren't that great.

Here are some I did back in the day:

Nice shots and nice car! Your location was def much better then ours. Hopefully I can find a better place. Also Im assuming you were driving in all of those shots because the lights seem to be oscillating.

Yeah, but I was still going pretty slow. I just had a good rig rigged in a crappy way to get the low angles. Location was a dark parking lot with bright neon lights off in the distance. So I could control how I wanted the lights to spread across the frame pretty accurately.

My car looks different now. I now have the STi hood scoop and V-limited lip and fender stripes and different tires.
