Lease Payment Calculation Formula:
(Cap Cost – Residual Value) / Term = Depreciation
(Cap Cost + Residual Value) X Base Rate = Interest
Depreciation + Interest = Base Monthly Payment

Terms Used in Lease Formula:
CAP COST = Vehicle Purchase Price (amount financed)
RESIDUAL VALUE = MSRP (window sticker) X Residual %
TERM = Length of Lease in Months (3 years = 36 months)
BASE RATE = Dealer’s Buy Rate (dealer can mark this up for profit)

NOTE: The manufacturer (captive) lease programs provided are for reference only. Base Rates may vary by region. Your dealer has the option of offering you a higher rate.

Well, all of that is negotiable as is the price of the car.

Negotiate as low as you can and then pull the trigger.

Dealers seem to markup leases but your money factor doesn't make sense. Acquisition fee sounds about right. What money factor are they giving you? Didn't you arrive at the deal prior to ordering? I can't say that the dealer is screwing you. After all they are in the business of earning a profit for their store. You can use a leasing company if you wish.

when the deal was made the rate was .0020 but I was told if the rate went down I could get that but if it went up then I could get the .0020

Good, leasing is a mess when the dealer has most of the cards. Good job. Happy motoring
