HK Speaker upgrades
I've got a recently acquired '13 135i vert, and I am unimpressed with the HK system sound. The tweeters are all harshness, and the door mids lack punch and clarity....regardless of EQ. It's amazing to me how much better my HK system sounds in our '14 328xi wagon. Anyway:
I'm considering some speaker upgrades that are both stealthy and that will augment simply/directly with the stock system. To start, just the A pillar tweets and front door drivers. It seems that there are two options, the Focal IFBMW-S system, which is about $650 on Crutchfield, and the Bavsound Stage One speaker upgrade, which is about $329. Does anyone here have experience with either of these two options, and/or a recommendation? Thanks very much in advance. |

There's also this one that I just found:

If money isn't an issue you can go with the focals. Most shallow 4"s can fit in both fronts and rears (I have a semi build thread where Im running DLS ultimates and hertz)blah blah blah. Personally I can vouch ever so heavily for the DLS, (especially since there so neutral) but granted I have faith in the focals they do have a history of bright tweeters (for certain models)
