First Things First...

Trying to figure out what mods I want to do on my 135, if any. Wanted to get opinions from the community on what should come first- I am a fresh BMW owner but really loving the scene and soaking it in.

A few notes to preface this-

1. I really want a quad exhaust. Love the look of it, always have. So that is for sure the top of my list.

2. I'm in SoCal (If my moniker didn't give it away) so if you guys know of any good tuners/shops it would be appreciated

So after the quad exhaust, (I am set on this) what would you recommend? Specific products? Brands?

all modding depends on your overall goal with the vehicle. Don't mod just to mod, have a plan of attack towards the type of vehicle you want to achieve.

Whether that be performance based, aesthetically based, etc. is something you have to decide.

Let me modify this a little.

Suspension first (do LSD here if you want/have the money), then tune, then exhaust/piping/cooling, then LSD. If the car somehow still has runflats on it, switch those out immediately.

Always always always, suspension first on this car.

I upgraded in this order:

1. Tires: 245 square pilot super sports
2. Tune: first by a tuner, then with open flash
3. Downpipes and retune (found them on the BST threads for stupid cheap)
4. Control arms and subframe bushing inserts

The one thing that I hated on the car was the harsh ride with a fairly compliant suspension from the runflats. After that I went square wheels and tires and was pretty happy with the way the car handled the rough back roads of "rural" NJ.

After being in a 135i with KW v3 coilovers I knew I didn't want that harsh of a ride, I like to be able to just bomb though backroads without having to slow down for bumps and elevation changes.

What I do hate about the stock suspension is the rear end wiggles too much over uneven roads, which really makes you nervous when your driving so I opted to do rear subframe bushing inserts and 1M/M3 control arms all around to help give it a better steering feel on bumps while still maintaining the ride.

However, in Socal where your backroads are typically better you might opt for a coilover setup.

I would start with a tune JB4 or Cobb
as for the exhaust Remus is a very good option . Two versions standard and race style ( louder tone)

Tune then tires. I'm running Cobb V3 stage 1 aggressive and the car losses traction easily when on the gas. I was going FMIC next but I'd rather get better traction. Just my 2 ¢.

I've got the RPI quad exhaust and a cat less down pipe and it sounds just about perfect to me. Had to pair it with a carbon quad diffuser (found a couple on ebay)

I'll add to the 'get a tune' and 'get rid of the run flats' mantra!

Nice, I am in Poway. Where are you a technician? I'm pretty new as I said before so I'm always looking to learn more. Are there any E82 or general BMW meetups in the area?

I really like the remus quad. Glad to hear good things about it. I was also looking into tuning- Dinan and Cobb. Dinan has the warranty appeal, but considering I only have 1 year left that might not really make it worth it from a financial standpoint... plus everyone on here seems to think Dinan is overpriced and you're really paying just for the name (and maybe a badge if you have deep enough pockets)

All the tunes have pros and cons, lots of info on this forum about all of them.
Their exhausts for All BMW are highly regraded.

I work at Vista. There are a few meetups around. None that I've been to yet.

I live in San Diego (San Marcos) I have a guy that is willing to do my quad exhaust for around $500. Just looking for the right rear diffuser
