Pretty sure I'm the first N55 in Oz to have a JB4...

Feeling like a bit of a pioneer

Haven't had a chance to drive much yet and obviously it needs time to adapt but first impressions are that the power delivery is MUCH smoother and I love the gauge controls for config and map switching.

Big thanks to Vin (BMW86) for driving over from the other side of town to help with the install!!!

I'll definitely report back with more info as I get more experience with the tune...

Do you mean the Stage 2 JB4 N55? I've sold a couple of Stage 1 JBs for N55s already.

Yup. I've been running the Stage 1 JB3 for about 8 months and eagerly awaiting the RHD Harness for the Stage 2 Upgrade for about 5 months.

Finally received the upgrade and harness on Monday and installed tonight

Great! So Burger says it's only 10hp or so more but if you say it's smoother then it sounds good and a worthwhile upgrade!

Out of interest what type of harness were you, A or B?

Mine is Type A - matches my personality And the JB3 harness is re-used for the JB4 Upgrade.

(build date of the car is 08/2010)

Yeah it's not much more power than the Stage 1 but the CAN integration means the power delivery is MUCH smoother so the power is way more usable. The car feels like it pulls much harder and way less jerky under sudden acceleration...

Should get better over the next week or two as it adapts

Glad to hear it's all working as it should. Now you need to get the downpipes so you can bump up the boost on map 2

Your car felt really quick, you have to take it to the drags to see what it's putting down. I was impressed. Very smooth too.

You guys are both right, I think it would be a close run right now as my my meth kit isn't hooked up. Meth equals pure domination by multiple bus lengths.

The N55 JB4 Map 1 felt pretty slick through the gear changes though, power felt even smoother than the N54. I was impressed, great daily driver.

Now you need to get rid of those bloody RFT's... i'm off to the chiropractor

I got to work SO fast this morning. The power delivery is so much better. It actually encourages lane changes because the power comes on straight away...

There was always a bit of lag with the JB3 and if I put my foot down enough to overcome that then the car would sometimes leap forward - not conducive to darting through traffic.

Feels like a completely different car

How come your meth kit isn't hooked up?

Random question but I cannot put an image of a 20 litre bottle/drum of meth in my head.

How big is it? and can it be put in my boot for transport back home?

The BMS Window Washer kit just uses the existing reservoir for the washer fluid, right Vin?

I know the other one (that Richard has) has the tank in the boot...

Agreed. After a tune the lag is more noticeable on the stock tune.

haha awesome.
20L drum could fit into the front drivers seat floor. It's not very big.

I remember asking about buying a 200L drum at the workshop and the guy asks, "Is that your BMW out there" and I said "yeh you reckon it will fit?", he said "not unless you strap it to the roof". 200L drums are huge.

I wish the drums came in 60L though, buying in 20L's isn't as economical as I would like.

Correct but I think Rey was asking about the drums to transport home.

The WW reservoir is about 5L whereas the biggest boot setup is about 8.5L.

LOL imagine strapping 200L drums on to your roof, would be a sight to see, wouldn't like to see the paint on your roof

Just getting some prices on the VP M-1 Methanol (20L) in Perth...

Haha... Nice try...

Next on the list are CP, DP, and FMIC...

Also thinking about a CAI - purely for the noise factor...
