Are you by any chance the 1M parked in Ardmore? I am down visiting friends for the break (Lived downtown WS for 7 yrs) and spotted it this morning, probably the same one I saw downtown on Friday night..
Unfortunately had to make the trip from NJ in the 4Runner, couldn't chance the weather for the return trip.. I have hawk eyes for 1Ms !

Modern Mustang vs 1M? 1M every day! Really don't like modern American cars. Sorry friends from the US of A...

American v8's work well in America for interstate roll racing. Now, my F stock Shelby mustang was as fast as my b stock rx8, so it American iron can turn. In scca road racing the mustangs and camero have done more than hold their own over the last couple of years.

Don't know about a 1M, but from a dig a tuned 135i can take a lightly modded Boss by a car length or so. From a roll, the Boss wins. A 1M vs Boss around the track, who can say? Probably depends on the track. Both nice cars with different missions.

2007 Shelby was fast and had a lot of prep work from the factory, so if you are talking stock vs stock on just a set of r comps you may be surprised.

Now, mark has reported that stu prepped e36s are not as fast at autox as the new stock 1m and that surprised me.

The 302 boss is one of the most capable cars in the world on track in its price range. To assume otherwise is foolish.

Ford is doing sme stuff right. I went to their site and built one. That thing could be fast around a track depending on what class you are building for.

The 1m weights about 3300lbs. That mustang will not weight that much more.

Kinda doubt this info. The damn pull on the Boss is VERY impressive. Are you sure it was a Boss and not just a GT? My best guess from driving them both alot and on the track would maybe be the other way around.

From dead stop - Boss,
rolling - 1M.

Just my .02 worth as a owner of both.

Mustangs never ever win any tests on this side of pond. Same with almost all US muscle cars. You might want to wake up from under your rock! :-) Sorry!

The original Mustang from the 69-70 I like. The revival from 20xx is just plain ugly.

I share your general bias but the mustang GT really took the forefront as bargain performance leader in my eyes after motor trend's M3 vs mustang GT test. And that was in non-Boss or Laguna Seca form ...

I'm Just going by that, as well as personal experience with a friends car. In the videos its a tuned 5.0 but I figure the boss doesn't make too much more power stock for stock, so a boss with only a light tune seems comparable. Though I haven't had much personal experience with either the 1M or the boss so I'm not the best person to ask :P

Dude, look closer. First off it's a 335i and I'm sure it's more then a light tune(I doubt Cobb does a light tune). I've had a 335i, a 135i and now a 1M and that has alot of rip for being "lightly" tuned.

Secondly, do a bit of research on the SCT tunes for Mustangs and you'll find alot of people tune them for anything from better "noise" to better gas mileage. Hard to say what either car had done.

I am talking about stock vs. stock. I've had both on tracks. I have 6,600 miles on Boss and 2,500 on 1M and I can tell you that I would NOT bet against the Boss in a 1M in ANY speed contast.

Now, as for fit, finish and features, the 1M wins hands down for a $45,000 car.

But don't be fooled, no matter what side of the pond your on, the Boss is a very serious speed machine and track car.

Besides, people from Sweden only understand driving fast thru woods and snow and believe a Muscle car is a turbo Saab!

Kidding!

Nice to see so many 1M's around the NC area. In Charlotte myself and it seems like the numbers are growing every day. I go up to WF games with my buddy all the time. Since we're in the same area, we should all get together and go to a track day at VIR or CMP together sometime (preferably VIR). PM me and let's get something together!

since its a 335i, its heavier and would be slower compared to a 1M or 135i with the same overall power. I never said the 3 was lightly tuned, my example was of a tuned 135 vs a lightly tuned stang. This drew on experience from a friends caf which I have not directly raced, as well as that video. However, at the time of that video, I believe only Cobb stage 1 is out, so its still a relatively light tune compared to something like Jb4 map 6 or something similar. I have nothing against mustangs and they are great cars, but as you say, the fit and finish isn't as upscale as on the 1. Stock vs stock I wouldn't bet on the 1M on the highway and still probably wouldn't bet on it from a dig, but depending on how far that overboost gets ya, that's some serious force going to the wheels at considerably lower RPM than on the boss, so it may just he possible on a tuneless 1M, but as I said I can't vouch for that.
