Looking into new tires for M Sport 17" rims
Hey guys was hoping to get some input from you regarding what tires you recommend I get for my M Sport wheels. I was wanting to upgrade my wheels to the Apex, but think I need to go through one more set of tires before I make that plunge. My current set up is as follows..
Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 Front - 205/50R17 89V Rear - 225/45R17 91V Should I stick with the same sizes and what tire do you guys recommend? I was wanting to go non run flat. |

I just did a 225/45/R17 square setup with Falken Azenis 615Ks and am quite happy with it. They're great on the road and held up quite well at the track, better than the BFGs I ran prior, IMHO.

I have mpss 225/45 front and 235/45 rear. So much more traction and less road noise than those nct 5's. Also upgraded the shocks and springs to the B 12 kit.

Your info on the left says Bay Area, so that's a start for info to know what kind of weather you have. You also need to say what kind of driving you'll do - just to work, canyon or on-ramp carving, track days? Plan on any trips to snowy places?
You need to provide more info since there are 100's of tires out there for different purposes. |

Yea Bay Area so don't expect it to get too cold. Don't expect to drive up to the snow. This is for a daily driver I drive a lot of freeway miles. Though I do live off of some canyon backroads.
The tire I'm leaning towards is the Firehawk 100. I'm thinking maybe 225/45/17 square set up. |

You can't go wrong with them. The Firestone's would be a good choice, but seem to be hard to find. maybe not in your size though, worth a look.
I've got the Hankook V12 Evo tires, they're OK. But they are cheap and rock the performance for $ category. I'll probably get the PSS's next time too. As you mentioned, no one seems to have anything bad to say and I've been paying attention for the last year or so now. Someone else would have to chime in with real life comparisons. If you haven't looked already you'll find a couple threads with just that - people that have had several difference performance tires on. |

I was considereing Michelin PSS (stock M Sport wheels myself) but I find them to be too pricey for simply daily use, even driving...exuberantly
I settled on Bridgestone S04 PP, which I think are in a similar performance class as the PSS (maybe a notch lower at most) but a lot cheaper. Can't comment on how much less performance I get out of them, but I'm happy for highway on-ramps and odd twisty road. My front set is at 25k and counting, on my 4th set of rears -___- the rears have lasted between 10k and 3k (!!!! - no I didn't do burn outs) of mostly highway driving. |

I've got BFG Sport Comp-2s on mine at the moment - 215 F and 235 R. Good tire for the price, though I may go to something with higher treadwear for the next set (this is my DD).
